New York State leads the country in an undesirable category.

New data from the U.S. Census Bureau says New York tops the nation in population loss.

The report says nine states saw a drop in population between July 1, 2017, and July 1, 2018. New York led the way at a loss of 48,510 people.

Of course most of these migrants vote for the same type of politicians in their destination states whom forced them to move out in the first place.

Not always.

North Carolina was one of a few states where the GOP had a decent showing in the 2018 midterms, and I'm convinced that a big part of it is a mass migration of Republicans from New York and New Jersey over the last ten years.

Early this month we had another big announcement of one more major U.S. company (Honeywell) moving their headquarters out of New Jersey. They're going to North Carolina. They even left something like $40 million of tax credits on the table here. New Jersey can't even BRIBE companies to stay here anymore.

Next stop sanctuary state status and tax anything that isn’t nailed down to pay for it.

The lunatics are fully in control of the state house now.

It’ll be California without the beaches and nice weather so the producers will bail out much quicker.

I know. Did East Germans fleeing vote for communists in Western Germany? Its a strange phenomenon. I guess the average person still believes they made their own choice in leaving regressive, high tax NY.

The only folks I know who’ve left are makers, not takers. Any state would be lucky to have them.

I have to drive thru there in order to get to Maine.
Just before the NY state line, while still in PA, I stop and get diesel, drinks, food, and use the restroom. I do NOT stop for anything....no fuel, no food, no lodging...nothing until I cross the Maine/NH line.
Other than mandatory road tolls, I don’t spend a single red cent in: NY, NJ, CT, MA. Nada... And IF I could hold my breath for that long, I wouldn’t even breathe their darn air.

New York should just pass some sort of exit tax. I’ll leave the details up to Gov. Cuomo as I’m more of a big-picture guy.

Watch for blue states to begin to fight the flight from their states by adding a giant tax on home sales, paid by the seller, coupled with some sort of credit received by the buyer. So if you both sell and buy in state, you more or less break even. But if you sell in the state and then move out of state you pay a fortune.

Eventually they will do something like that because it's not the welfare cases that are fleeting. It's the people who pay for the welfare cases and the giant pensions of state workers who want out. And that cannot be allowed.

Remember when the vile Governor Andrew Cuomo bellowed that decent, pro life people are not wanted and should leave New York. Many did just that. MS 13 members replaced them especially on Long Island. Any state that elects Democrats deserves the consequences.

That sounds like a violation of the Commerce Clause to me.

I’m not surprised people are leaving the far left cities of NYC and Chicago due socialist economics and freezing cold weather winters.

The problem is they move to places that are or were red states and turn them purple or blue like what’s happening in FL and AZ. Leftists destroy everything they touch. I think I’ll make that my new tagline for a while.

It’s all within a state. But I am sure they could find judges up through the circuit level to say “of course it’s legal”. Then probably SCOTUS would be 4-4 with Roberts breaking the tie by siding with the lefties again because he’s made it clear that he will not interfere with the ability of the states to force the people to bend their knees.

But we still have two years to go until the final numbers for the new House map are tabulated. The last five seats went to Colorado, Arizona, Ohio, Alabama and California — while Montana, Minnesota, Rhode Island, Florida and Texas were “seats 436-440,” just missing out on picking up an additional district under POLITICO’s calculation.
