Its no secret that Americans have gotten much, much bigger over the past few decades. The signs are all around us, from XXXL clothing sizes to supersize movie seats and even larger coffins.
According to an analysis from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the average American man now stands at 5-feet-9 1/4 inches tall and weighs 196 pounds up 15 pounds from 20 years ago. For women, the change has been even more striking: The average female today stands 5-feet-3 3/4 inches and weighs 169 pounds. In 1994, her scale read 152 pounds
The latest CDC estimates now show that, as of 2016, 40 percent of US adults and 19 percent of youth were obese.

I find that difficult to believe. I'm 5', 9" and weight about 170. I don't think anyone would say I'm that far below average in weight. I would guess maybe 10-15 pounds under, if even that.

No carbs, no problem.
I do eat carbs but not in large quantities, however, during the holidays and the overabundance of carbs I pay attention and stick with the meat and veggies. Quite often I opt for 1 meal per day midafternoon. And sometimes I go 36 hours between meals. Its just a thing. Work related I guess, and the routine has stuck with me. I never really enjoyed eating when I wasn’t hungry.
I’m up 2-1/2 pounds...
If you use a smaller plate, it will seem like a healthier portion.
“Eat less move more” is an idea that has been tested more than any other notion in the history of human biology. It has failed every time! As Dr. Jason Fung states, “It has a perfect record, absolutely untarnished by success!” He calls it the “CRAP” theory (calorie reduction as primary.)
I am personally thankful for Dr. Rachael Heller and her husband Dr. Richard Heller for showing my whole family the way out. Thanks also to Dr. Fung who has confirmed their research and does the best job of showing what the culprit is, i.e. insulin resistance, and how to control it. Thanks also to YouTube star Butter Bob for showing me that avoiding fat was making me fat.

On the Carbohydrate Addict’s Diet, I weigh every day, keeping a weekly average which is my actual weight. The daily weight will fluctuate over a range of several pounds from day to day. Weighing at the same time every day does not make a difference since my body’s cycle of water retention does not coincide with the sleep cycle or the clock. During winter my weight average is a couple pounds more than summer. My waist measure, 31” and body fat measure, 15%, does not change.
I have lost at least 35 pounds while eating cake and ice cream, (perhaps 50 cuz I did not start weighing until I had already been losing.) I have kept it off for 18 months and I did not gain during any holidays. Yesterday I had cherry cheesecake and a cinnamon roll (which I could not finish cuz I was stuffed!) Got tired of cake for a while.
Prevent weight gain on the holidays?
