Once in a while, Chris Matthews deviates from the extreme liberalism that has captured the left, exemplified by the abolish-ICE talk so in vogue among liberals.
On Monday evening's Hardball, Matthews took a surprisingly firm stance on immigration, actually siding more with Adolfo Franco of the RNC than with Neera Tanden, head of the Soros-funded Center for American Progress.
Noting that there are "two-thirds of a billion" people living in poverty in South America who would like to emigrate to the United States, Matthews acknowledged that "at some point, there's going to have to be enforcement."

Once every three months, just like clockwork, Chris Matthews says something reasonable.
Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.
Occasional, brief lapses into glimpses of rationality and truth. They never last, unfortunately, when consciousness away from the statist stupor fades.
I am quite familiar with the Philippines. I feel that half the Philippines would move to the USA if they could. You just cant take everyone. My nephew recently immigrated from Taiwan. Took him ten years to work through the line.
Awwwww ....cheesey greasey had a brain tingle!
What to do?!?

“Once every three months, just like clockwork, Chris Matthews says something reasonable.”
This isn’t necessarily “something reasonable.” Hillary Clinton and John Kerry signaled a Democratic policy shift away from supporting the refugees. This is because the recent eliminate-ICE polled very badly and had to be dropped as an agenda item just before the midterms. (The polls showed 80% of the voters thought it a bad idea.) Hillary’s point is that the refugee crisis is creating a conservative vote-getting talking point. “White people” are afraid of the brown rabble and will vote conservative to stop it. Hillary wasn’t concerned about any other issues, just that the refugee crisis was getting people like Trump elected; thus taking votes away from Democrats. Chris Mathews is merely reflecting the policy change. Incidentally, once in power you can bet the refugees will be admitted en masse.
Good analysis!
They all are pushing this now as they know the American Citizens demand it. Not sure how long it will last, probably till the last day of this Congress.
Yup! Nailed it.
Bingo.. nothing brilliant or conservative to see here.. he is just accepting marching order from dem leadership. Drunk in power aristocrats. They got spanked in the midterms thanks to the Presidential bully pulpit.
He has them on the run.. will he push them into border funding?
Polling on open borders must be horrendous for Dems.
He’s just a party hack—shifting just about as much as Hillary and Kerry in what they claim publicly, because it is too good an issue for Trump.
In other words, Trump wins.
The main problem with the illegals coming in will be that they trash our country the way they did theirs.
The same results are seen in Texas where the californicates moved in and brought the californicate ideas with them.
Winning 40 seats in house is not being smacked. But the rats are copy kats. They repeat what each other say. No original thought

been saying the exact same thing for ages.
This is not an arguement about whether we should be able to decide who gets to come to America, just who and how many!
People you can’t let EVERYONE in. That is just a FACT.
6.5 billion+ people in the world. Only a little over 300+ million in the US, only 100 million or so who vote.. so if the Chinese put 150 million voting age people on boats and drop them off on our shore... they take over our country at the ballot box without firing a shot?
um... sorry, not going to fall for that!
They have to come out in support of what they are not in support of heading into the elections.
Opposition to immigration enforcement at the border is a losing position politically.
