If you will remember back to the 1980s, when the anti-gun forces, which said they had no problems with people owning rifles, suddenly made a grab for the rifles.

Their claim was that the military doctors were getting their training treating gunshot wounds in civilian hospitals because of all those “E-e-vil A-s-s-s-ault rifles out there!

You know why the criminal holds the gun sideways, don’t you?

That’s the way it came out of the box.

How many gun deaths are of unarmed victims? Nearly all, I dare say.

Myth: Japan has strict gun control and a less violent society

Fact: In Japan, the total murder rate is almost 1 per 100,000. In the U.S., there are about 3.2 murders per 100,000 people each year by weapons other than firearms.344 This means that even if firearms in the U.S. could be eliminated, the U.S. would still have three times the murder rate of the Japanese.

Myth: Access to guns increases the risk of suicide

Fact: The rate of suicide is not affected by the presence of a firearm. This is true in either a time series analysis (like the chart at right showing the change in handgun supply in the U.S. over time),476 or through cross-national analysis. For example, Japan has no private handgun ownership (aside from an extremely limited number of licensed Olympic sport shooters), and yet had a suicide rate more than twice that of the United States in 2002.477

Fact: The claim derives mainly from one study 478 which has some serious methodology problems including unbalanced high/low state counts, inclusion of Hawaii (a known outlier) and intermixing mental health and drug use as confounding variables.

Note: These physicians do not want the victims of guns to be protected. Quite the reverse they demand innocent people not be allowed to arm and protect themselves. How is this medically sound practice?

My cardiologist has such a sign. The message is clear. I am not allowed by Dr’s orders to protect myself should a murderous fanatic storm the office guns blazing. Do these twits honestly believe their petty signs will prevent lawless killers from bringing guns onto their premises? Do they not understand their sign is an open invitation to a ripe and ready killing field?

I'm afraid it's a little bit worse....

Jan 8, 2018 · Excluding most suicides, at least 15,549 people were killed by guns in the United States in 2017, according to data collected by Gun Violence Archive (GVA), a nonprofit organization that ...

According to a recent study by Johns Hopkins, more than 250,000 people in the United States die every year because of medical mistakes, making it the third leading cause of death after heart disease and cancer.

What's that phrase 'people who live in glass houses.......'

These morons sawbones seem to become experts on every topic merely by treating a wound. Working in an ER clearly gives you expertise on freeway design, aircraft maintenance, electrical engineering, and the navigation of boats.

And the response should be mass starvation in Ukraine or China or the piles of corpses at the Nazi death camps or any of the various pictures of Stalin’s firing squads.

Total concentration of power in the hands of governments via a disarmed citizenry is far far deadlier than anything these docs have seen in the US.

You mean a sign did not work? I for one, if I had a weapon and bad intent, would surely be deterred by a sign. LOL!

I doubt there are very many trauma surgeons who have time to mess with Twitter.

Annual medical error deaths in the US per Consumer Reports...440,000. Annual gun deaths in the US...about 33,000, mostly from suicides and criminal on criminal. We don’t have a gun problem, we have a doctor problem.

Actually, illannoy has shall issue now including shitcago. However, with the new rat governor and legislature coming in January, I fear such things as magazine size, semi-autos etc may be in jeopardy.

A bunch of left wing quacks who hate the Second Amendment.

Do any of these “doctors” admit that their mistakes cause the deaths of at least 200,000 people in America every year, and the crippling of countless others?

How about all the people who defend themselves with firearms every year, and never wind up these liberal doctors “blood stained” emergency rooms in the first place?

My PA says she is always glad to see me, assuming no critical medical issues, because she knows i carry and train and practice and she feels safer with me in the room. Her boss, my primary care MD, is female and she does not care either. Nor does my female chiropractor.
