Kids I know used to eat live bay crabs. I guess they’re brackish-water, so at least THAT infection is less likely? The irony is they used to call ME a geek.
(Turns out that a geek is someone who eats live animal flesh.)

How sad is that?! I am telling my kids. Lets not do dares that involve eating any non food! So sad.
Every year in Switzerland a family dies after a happy fall day mushroom foraging. There are free centers in every canton where you can have your mushrooms inspected, but Dad or Grandpa knows too well to ever need help.
Nope... Bad idea. Now THAT’s weird. I never heard of anyone eating a live, uncooked crab. Not something I would ever do... Even a softie. Nope nope nope.
I feel so sad for his family. Also the friends who were with him will carry the guilt forever.
The only positive is if it makes someone say, “No, don’t do that!”
