‘Free Healthcare’ vs Republicans
Vanity | 11/1/18 | Originalbuckeye

Posted on 11/01/2018 5:30:26 PM PDT by originalbuckeye

When the Left brings up ‘Medicare for all or Obamacare’, instead of pointing out that Government run healthcare would cost $32.3 TRILLION over the next 10 years, Republicans need to say ‘that would raise Federal taxes on every taxpayer 20%’. Period.

TOPICS: Chit/Chat; Health/Medicine
KEYWORDS: medicare; singlepayer; socialism
And when Bernie says ‘why are we the only 1st World country that doesn’t provide free healthcare for all’, point out that he never says GOOD healthcare. Or that people would have to wait 3-6 months for a procedure, if they can get it at all.

I’m wondering if the Medicare for all plan is 80% like Medicare is now, or will everyone need Medi gap insurance?
Guessing it would be 100% Medicare.

Medicare for all is no care for anyone

You can’t force people to go into medicine and be docs and nurses....unless you become a totalitarian nation

AND, in countries where there is Socialized Medicine, the taxpayers pay for the Medical education of the doctors.

Plus explode the cost of health care.

To increase the price of anything, subsidize it.

You must be one of the half of wage earners who pays income tax. The other half don’t give a hoot.

Medicare for all will gut original Medicare which most of those receiving it now paid big bucks into for forty years or so - it would be a disaster....

You still cannot force people to become docs and nurses. Look at England. There health care is turd world because of how many Paki docs and nurses they have

It’s true. The number of FMGs (Foreign Medical Graduates) there is probably around (at least) half the number of docs. And getting a dental appointment? Several months.........

It is 100%, but that doesn’t cover everything you will need. My husband chose to replace a tooth that had needed to come out (this was 30 ears ago). He did replace the tooth, the empty spot was apparent when he smiled, but he had to pay 50 pounds for it, which back then was around $75. No free replacement for a gap in your teeth, which here would have been done so as to not mess up the alignment of your teeth and bite.

What I’m saying is, there is 100% coverage in healthcare, but only they determine what you will get. And when you are elderly and no longer contributing to the state by working, your level of care goes down. And if you need to be in a nursing home toward the end of your life, that is not covered......and costs 1 1/2 times a nursing home here.

The point of this post was to say that our candidates need to tell their constitutents that ‘free healthcare’ will cost them 20% more in Federal taxes. And yes, ALL will pay. There will be no more ‘freeriders’......EVERYONE WHO WORKS will pay for ‘free healthcare’ in their paychecks, and will carry everyone who doesn’t work, but will still get ‘free healthcare’.

“Medicare for all is no care for anyone”

Except for the elite and the politically connected.

That’s why Democrat’s champion it...it’s a pecking order system based on who has the right politics to be “valuable” and thus get treated.

Democrats are fascists. It’s what they do.

It really is. Back in the mid 70’s, my SIL gave birth to her first child. She then spent the night in the hall of the NHS hospital as there weren’t any available beds in the wards. I suspect there haven’t been many hospitals built since then. And notice I said ‘wards’. 4 beds per room in most hospitals.....not many private rooms there. And as an aside, when I worked in the NHS in the 80’s, there were many who just went by ‘Lady X’ for their lab testing. The only way to follow them in our records (well before the WWW came to be), was by their birthdate......and many ‘Lady X’s’ had the same birthdate. The NHS has been a mess for decades. But Bernie and his fellow travelers delight their followers with the dreams of ‘free healthcare’.

Not really. It will destroy what is left if the American magical system which means the elite will have no where to run. Some maybe able to have a consierge doc but they will need a private island and self funded hospital as well

The democrat wing of the CPUSA wants Medicare for all because it’s about power

Totally disagree...this will set up a system where the political class will have access to the elite and special hospitals and private doctors, and everyone else will get nothing but doc in a box stores. This is how a “Dacha” system always works...and this is straight out of the Marx/Lenin playbook.

They will have theirs...the rest of us are on our own in a brave newThird World Dark Age.

I'm sure one figure is as accurate as the other.

Yes, but the added 20% tax onto their paychecks is personal. The $32.3 trillion is a number that invites glazed eyes.

‘One death is a tragedy. 1,000 is a statistic’. And can I add, these days it is only a statistic unless it can be blamed on Trump. Then it is worthy of impeachment. I WISH I were being sarcastic.
