Unfortunately, the 5 inning thing is the rule, and they don’t let pitchers pitch through jams anymore. They have these stupid pitch counts and they rely on bullpens.
I would like to see baseball impose a limit on the number of pitchers you can use in a game, to say three pitchers.
Of course the Union would never allow this rule to go into place.
