“Sign the ticket and keep a low profile.”

I acknowledge the counsel. My reaction is to say keep a zero profile. If a person wins a big jackpot, then he should not sign the card, open a business, and sign the card with the new business name.

How many lottery winners have been kidnapped? None.

Well, it’s not that simple. If you take the one time payment and you invest the money, the odds are you will have more at the end of the 30 years. That is why people take the one time payment. I realize some winners have wasted their money, but a mature and disciplined person can work the money better than an annuity.

I’m gonna buy a boat and just go fishing all the time.

Well, THAT and run for office as the “Mega Millions Conservative”.

"Mega Millions director says this is the first thing the winner should do"

The winner should say that he or she lost the ticket in Guatemala.

I would keep about $30 million for family, friends and myself. Set up a foundation with a board and staff I trust to help needy people in two specific ways with the rest of $$$.

“Another problem is security cameras. “

NOW you tell me. But if I go back up there with another $2 in a disguise, what are the odds I would get another winning ticket like I just bought an hour ago!?

I mean, I just KNOW I’ve got the winning numbers!

Call Gavin DeBecker and arrange for 24/7 personal security, dump your cell number for a new one. Book yourself into a resort penthouse in another country starting the day you claim the prize then have your attorney arrange to set up a trust and have the funds wife transferred. Fly private not commercial.

“At those numbers who cares about inflation.
Spend it like a drunken sailor”

Correct.

A person would have to work full time to spend that much money...likely for the rest of their lives.

Buy real property. Personal property. Anything.

So much work to spend that much. And when you’re done you’re still worth 10’s of millions. Or more.

Honestly, how many $10,000 bottles of wine can one drink? How many homes can one own? How many miles can one travel?

If I don’t win it, and ONLY if I don’t win it, I hope some E-4 in the Navy wins it after his first WestPac. At least then we’ll know it was well spent.

1.6 Billion makes you far better looking and more attractive! I agree with you, though 2 million would be better.

Off topic, but why hasn’t the jackpot increased since Saturday morning? It’s been 1.6 billion since then.
