23 charts and maps that show the world is getting much, much better

EXHIBIT: The power of media

On display here is the power of the media that I think is helping to shape the distorted opinions of millennials. While the charts and maps show optimistic trends in almost every category, the author starts this report by saying:

"For most Americans, these feel like bleak times. We have a massively unpopular, scandal-plagued president whose aides are being convicted of serious federal felonies. Overt, old-fashioned racism is publicly visible and powerful in a way it wasn’t only five years ago. More than 200 admired, powerful men have been accused of sexual misconduct or assault.

This is all real, and truly alarming. But it would be a mistake to view that as the sum total of the world in 2018. Under the radar, some aspects of life on Earth are getting dramatically better. Extreme poverty has fallen by half since 1990, and life expectancy is increasing in poor countries — and there are many more indices of improvement like that everywhere you turn.>

Maybe the opening paragraph is meant to be facetious, but I doubt it. This seems to be an example of the way young generations view the positive track our country is on.

What bothers me is that NO ONE in the far left “media” is being hit with #MeToo “assault” and “rape” allegations by members of the porn and psycho industries. Why not?

I dream of seeing the creation of a website that uncovers and exposes every detail of the lives of reporters and media pundits. I'd like to see some of their secrets, vices and transgressions put on display as they so enjoying doing to conservatives.

Let's see what they do in their 'private lives'.

By a huge number of objective measures, life is far, far better for the
average person than it was a century ago, and almost immeasurabley better than it was 500 years or more ago.

The included charts are interesting even if the author’s opinions are those of the pedocrat party which all in the media serve, like bonded slaves. Interesting there’s no chart showing the increasing efforts of the pedocrat party and its allies to end free speech in the western world.

“massively unpopular, scandal-plagued president”

Unpopular with who? And what scandals?

Some good info, but also some clear BS... solar and wind are NOT cheaper per MW than coal, natural gas and/or nuclear power.

“Maybe the opening paragraph is meant to be facetious, but I doubt it.”

A huge number of public presentations; news articles, YouTube videos, and TV shows contain at least one zing on Trump. In many cases, they go on to present data that could easily exonerate the target of the zing. In most cases, even though I am interested in the data, when I get to the zing I click away.

“By a huge number of objective measures, life is far, far better for the average person than it was a century ago”

Because technology is accelerating, the next generation will likely see bigger gains that the last century.

- Robots and artificial intelligence will make production costs plummet, raising living standards sharply.

- Radical life extension and age reversal from genetic, stem cell and drug therapies.

- Cures and treatments for most disease or disability.

- Near elimination of destitute poverty worldwide.

- and finally, the Jetson’s flying cars!

Exactly so. Life has never been better, and short of worldwide disaster it will continue to improve.

The benefits of capitalism are somehow shaded by the media. It is amazing to see what people will accept as factual.

All the while we are watching a mass migration coming north and even though it is a politically hyped production the people being used are hoping for a chance at a future where they have hope ...hope delivered by a free market capitalist economy.

"For most Americans, these feel like bleak times."

The author obviously lives in a libtard bubble, where everyone he knows, is mentally unhinged about Trump.

If any of them could see past the blood rage in their eyes, they'd see that every quality of life metric has risen since Trump has been in office.
