I’m a Sox fan but honestly, I did not think they would get past the Astros. Our bullpen is nothing to brag about.
Yeah our bullpen worries me still. Kimbrel just has not been sharp at all, among other issues. We keep muddling through it but seems like it could go south in any game.
Fortunately, great hitting and defense provide a lot!!
Yup. When I saw Kimbrel come out of the bullpen the past two nights, you don't want to know what I was screaming at the TV! I still can't believe Cora left Kimbrel in so long in yesterday's game, especially with Bregman coming up to bat. With the bases loaded. GRR!
Reportedly Kimbrel just learned before Game 5 that he has been tipping his pitches in recent weeks, allowing batters to tee off on him (though all the walks still seem to me to be a big part of the problem, too). If this info is right and he has now corrected the problem then that bodes very well for the World Series:
