I remember that hit very well. I, with almost zero interest in baseball even though living in LA, could not resist having a small interest in the Dodgers. My roommate, mega baseball fan, was watching the game biting his nails to the quick. I was doing other things but happened to walk by the TV at the exact instant Gibson hit that homerun. Nobody could believe it.

My dad a true & blue Dodger fan.
Even though many years ago..I remember the Gibson hit vividly, my dad & I celebrating after watching that Unreal home run, listening to Vin Scully call it..a moment in time that I’ll never forget.

And the Dodgers celebrated by not being able to score a run.

It was so incredible because Eckersly had been so unbeatable all year.

I remember it so well. I was watching the game at my girl friend's home. It was an amazing end to a World Series ball game. Throughout the evening I could sense something had changed with my girl friend's attitude toward me, and it gave me a bad feeling. I left her that night, understanding I would probably never return. And I was right. The next time we talked, she told me she decided I was not the right guy for her. For the last 30 years, I've never been able to figure out why our relationship ended. It has haunted me ever since.

So yes, I remember the Gibson home run. It is a memory forever connected to one of the saddest moments in my life.

This was the only at-bat for Gibson in the 88’ World Series.
