Maybe some guy from G section could check radiation shields.
You can’t be too careful about radiation.
Hah! I recognize “Victoria ‘Vic’ Moretti” from “Longmire” (Katee Sackhoff). Interesting.
And a trillion spam emails were launched.
What is it that you know about exposure to radiation?
Ive watched too many sci-fi movies. Im imagining a craft that has a body that is basically cylindrical framework with a service corridor down the center and the seating is a series of recessed escape pods something like a cluster munition full of people.
I suppose though that there's no point in that until we are more advanced and there are other places to go.
Turgidson: Doctor, you mentioned the ratio of ten women to each man. Now, wouldn’t that necessitate the abandonment of the so-called monogamous sexual relationship, I mean, as far as men were concerned?
Dr. Strangelove: Regrettably, yes. But it is, you know, a sacrifice required for the future of the human race. I hasten to add that since each man will be required to do prodigious...service along these lines, the women will have to be selected for their sexual characteristics which will have to be of a highly stimulating nature.
Russian Ambassador: I must confess, you have an astonishingly good idea there, Doctor.
Did not know she was in that show.
I think that’s a brilliant idea. Makes a lot of sense.
a) I’m a visiting alien; b) I’ve stayed at a Holiday Inn; c) I’m smart for an old bird; d) I’m addicted to space porn; e) some of the above; f) one of the above.
like if somebody brings a drill on board? (referencing the holes in the space station)
14 CFR 121.391 specifies that no FAs are required if the a/c only seats nine or fewer passengers.
“Space attendants” will be given two weeks of training, work completely irregular hours and always on short notice, and then be paid $14 per hour.
But the benefits will be out of this world.
Understood, not much. Not that that would deter you from spreading misinformation.
asking a question is not spreading disinformation.
At the European Planetary Science Congress, data was presented suggesting 600mSv per 12-month round trip to Mars - that’s 600 chest xrays.
From an article in Engaget: “Newly presented ESA ExoMars orbiter data indicates that astronauts would receive “at least” 60 percent of their maximum recommended career radiation exposure on a round trip to Mars that takes six months both ways. That’s still several times what ISS crew members receive...”https://www.engadget.com/2018/09/19/mars-trip-radiation-levels-from-esa/
so you figure it out, Genius - how many trips is a ‘flight attendant’ going to be able to make in a career? 1-1/2? 2?
600 mSv has what biological effect, specifically? Genius?
My lifetime occupational exposure is more than 400mSv (>40 Rem). So, do I think there is a large hazard from 600mSv? No, not really.
It is an issue that must be taken into account, maintained ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) and carry on.
That exposure is characterized as Chronic, not Acute. Big difference in hazard. Carry on.
