This letter has been sent to the Washington Post. We thought our FReeper friends might like to see it.
If you were a typing student back in the days of the manual/electric typewriter era, no doubt you came across those lines in drills for speed and accuracy. But I doubt you ever gave them thought beyond face value. Maybe today is the day you should. What they say reads as a call to armsa summons to befriend and defend a country whose way of life, moral fabric, and future is at high risk.
Evil is rampant, and those possessed by greed, power hunger, moral decay and insolence (maybe even hatred?) seek to destroy and obliterate all that is decent, worthy and valuable from the society in which we live. Accountability is at an all time low, blame placed everywhere but where it should be is at an all time high. This can NOT be allowed to continue if America as one nation under God with liberty and justice for all is to survive intact with its constitutional values preserved intact for future generations to live under.
The question is, what are YOU going to do about it? The so called silent majority can be silent no longer if they wish to see justice served. If they remain silent NOW, there are those who would see them silenced forever. This is not acceptable in any degree whatsoever.
A majority of anything begins with only one. One who stands committed and loyal to principles far greater than themselves. That one joined to still another one of like mind and dedication, and still another one, and another one, and another one until they are legion in number has arisen throughout the course of history in places far and wide. They changed the course of history when they did. Such a majority is needed now to do the same thing: change the course; keep it from continuing down the path of self destruction it is now on.
Never underestimate the power of one. One solitary life changed the world over 2000 years ago. The world has not been the same since the child born to a peasant woman and her carpenter husband came and lived that One solitary life among mortal men. In that example we see that one does make a difference. But everyone has to be THAT one.
Including you.
The prophet Isaiah once faced such a similar choice, when the voice of God asked, Who will go for us? Whom shall we send? And from the depths of his heart and soul, he answered Here am I; send ME. He rose up to speak truth and warning to a nation in need of it.
Would that all of like mind and concern will do no less for our nation in this day and time. Most all those who share this concern will realize that no such undertaking is without its price. And preserving those precious freedoms established by that amazing document that many seek to undermine and/or abolish is most definitely a thing that will have a price. Should confrontation be that price, there are those who will step forward to pay it. Fortunately, there are some things worth the confrontation; worth fighting for. Some are even worth dying for.
Those on the far left, fringe groups, socialists and communist are calling for an uprising if the Supreme Court Confirmations hearings dont go their way.
My question is this: Why would you even suggest starting something that may lead to a civil war? Something for you to consider: 620,000 soldiers were killed during the American Civil War. There are no accurate figures of the number of civilians killed. The Union lost about 360,000 soldiers and the Confederacy lost about 260,000 soldiers. For both sides in the Civil War, 471,427 can be considered as a minimum number of those wounded. The Civil War was one the bloodiest wars in our history.
Are you trying to start a war? Another point to ponder: The flyover part of the country and the bitter Bible and guns clingers may not sit idly by while you try to railroad our President and to take over the government already filled with corruption.
We have all the weapons and you cant even decide which bathroom to use. I would remember that. Dont start something you cant finish.

Personally I like the “Don’t start nothen wont be nothen title
Love it.
Very nice. Just remember to kick them square in the balls after they read it!
LOL——Nice touch!
Bkmrk.
Aye-——We thought they deserved one last warning. Let’s see if they take it for how it was meant
The Gods of the Copybook Headings
(Rudyard Kipling)
AS I PASS through my incarnations in every age and race,
I make my proper prostrations to the Gods of the Market Place.
Peering through reverent fingers I watch them flourish and fall,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings, I notice, outlast them all.
We were living in trees when they met us. They showed us each in turn
That Water would certainly wet us, as Fire would certainly burn:
But we found them lacking in Uplift, Vision and Breadth of Mind,
So we left them to teach the Gorillas while we followed the March of Mankind.
We moved as the Spirit listed. They never altered their pace,
Being neither cloud nor wind-borne like the Gods of the Market Place,
But they always caught up with our progress, and presently word would come
That a tribe had been wiped off its icefield, or the lights had gone out in Rome.
With the Hopes that our World is built on they were utterly out of touch,
They denied that the Moon was Stilton; they denied she was even Dutch;
They denied that Wishes were Horses; they denied that a Pig had Wings;
So we worshipped the Gods of the Market Who promised these beautiful things.
When the Cambrian measures were forming, They promised perpetual peace.
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
But when we disarmed They sold us and delivered us bound to our foe,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: “Stick to the Devil you know.”
On the first Feminian Sandstones we were promised the Fuller Life
(Which started by loving our neighbour and ended by loving his wife)
Till our women had no more children and the men lost reason and faith,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: “The Wages of Sin is Death.”
In the Carboniferous Epoch we were promised abundance for all,
By robbing selected Peter to pay for collective Paul;
But, though we had plenty of money, there was nothing our money could buy,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: “If you don’t work you die.”
Then the Gods of the Market tumbled, and their smooth-tongued wizards withdrew
And the hearts of the meanest were humbled and began to believe it was true
That All is not Gold that Glitters, and Two and Two make Four
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings limped up to explain it once more.
As it will be in the future, it was at the birth of Man
There are only four things certain since Social Progress began.
That the Dog returns to his Vomit and the Sow returns to her Mire,
And the burnt Fool’s bandaged finger goes wabbling back to the Fire;
And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins
When all men are paid for existing and no man must pay for his sins,
As surely as Water will wet us, as surely as Fire will burn,
The Gods of the Copybook Headings with terror and slaughter return!
Well you lost me on that my friend. Explain?
Warnings often go unheeded....much to the dismay of those who disregard them....just sayin’

Aye they might think that-——but they might be wrong.
Bookmarked to see if and how WAPO edits it.
Very well said.
You have a point. By the time they get done with it, no telling what it will look like
Very moving, thanks!
It was not part of their blood,
It came to them very late
With long arrears to make good,
When Deplorables began to hate.
They were not easily moved,
They were icy-willing to wait
Till every count should be proved,
Ere Deplorables began to hate.
Their voices were even and low,
Their eyes were level and straight.
There was neither sign nor show,
When Deplorables began to hate.
It was not preached to the crowd,
It was not taught by the State.
No man spoke it aloud,
When Deplorables began to hate.
It was not suddenly bred,
It will not swiftly abate,
Through the chill years ahead,
When Time shall count from the date
That Deplorables began to hate.

Your very welcome. We hope it will——do some good—but the socialist and far left may be too far gone to get it.
