When I was 6 years old, I was in a car wreck that killed my mother. My little sister was 4 years old, had a ruptured spleen and my dad realized something wasn’t right and insisted she be checked.
She was in a coma for 33 days and then made a full recovery.

A friend of mine is a fireman. He puts on a pretty nonchalant attitude most of the time. Although we were in the car driving somewhere and he was talking about some volunteer fund he was organizing for extended health care for firemen.
“And a lot of it is mental stress too. Wherever I go I'm always reminded of the dead kid on the bike over there, the heart attack in the store, etc.”
