Would it be too hard to put a kill switch to the tranny when the driver’s door is opened?

One that could be overrode purposefully when actually needing the door to be open while in gear?

>>John Barleycorn . . . last time I heard that expression used was in the old Buck Owens song Cigarettes and Whiskey and Wild, Wild Women . . .<<

I am a self-taught rock/jazz flautist.

Think “Traffic.”

Need I say more? ;)

Was that song before or after the “John Barleycorn Must Die” rock album?

Apparently the answer is “yes.”

I have heard of this exactly once: this time. When companies apply Risk Analysis the first thing they do is analytical studies.

The incidence of this must be less than the cost of the mechanism of which you speak.

"...kill switch to the tranny"

One more item that'll cost $300 to repair when the car won't move and the door isn't open.

I had to look it up. That song came up in 1947. John Barleycorn is mentioned before the music begins:

Cigarettes, whiskey and wild wild women
They'll drive you crazy, they'll drive you insane;
Cigarettes, whiskey and wild wild women
They'll drive you crazy, they'll drive you insane;

Once I was happy and had a good wife
I had enough money to last me for life
Then I met with a gal and we went on a spree
She taught me smokin' and drinkin' whiskee

Cigarettes, whiskey and wild wild women
They'll drive you crazy, they'll drive you insane;
Cigarettes, whiskey and wild wild women
They'll drive you crazy, they'll drive you insane;

Cigarettes are a blight on the whole human race
A man is a monkey with one in his face;
Take warning dear friend, take warning dear brother
A fire's on one end, a fools on the t'other

Cigarettes, whiskey and wild wild women
They'll drive you crazy, they'll drive you insane;
Cigarettes, whiskey and wild wild women
They'll drive you crazy, they'll drive you insane;

No, it would not be too difficult. I'm sure you can do it. For you and your car. Leave mine alone.

Kinda glad we dont have a cam covering the drive thru window at the liquor store. This crap would be on every weekend. Thanks to the original constructor of the building that had forethought in that area.

During 25 years responding to medical and fire calls in a big city... I saw a lot of weird ways to die.

Fortunately, I was off the day my crew responded to a fat guy that removed a storm sewer grate after he dropped his car keys in the drain. When he reached into to get the keys he fell head first into the drain and got stuck. When my crew arrived the police were standing around with this guys butt and legs sticking out of the drain. My crew quickly pulled him out and started CPR. He was apparently still kicking when the first calls came in, but instead of helping to pull him out people called 911. So he drowned.

I went on another call where a bicyclist was hit by a truck and landed face down in the drainage ditch next to the road. Bystanders put blankets on him instead of getting his face out of the water because they were afraid to move him. So he died from drowning as well.

Of course nothing beats the two meth addicts who planned on stealing copper wire off an electrical pole. They threw the cable and hook from their pickup truck’s winch over high voltage lines that they for some reason thought were deenergized. I don’t think I need to go into great detail... think of the cat from the movie Christmas Vacation.

I could go on, but you get the picture. This Jack in the Box drive through mishap does not seem all that unusual to me.

Thanks for that one!

I don’t have to complete with Chris Banks (which is like a flea [me] completing with elephant [Banks])! :)
