There is nothing worse than the smell of a cricket invasion. We had them every year in school. Crunch, crunch everywhere you walked. Could barely see the walkway for smooshed and live cricket. Ugh, the stench!

We have cidadas all the time. The kitties love bringing them in because they make so much noise. No, haven’t noticed a smell but then it’s only one at a time compared to a Biblical swarm of crickets.

On the surface, it has some appeal, but I believe in the predator-prey relationship.
If one group becomes totally dominant, they will fall to the wayside after a few cycles.
