Hillary beat Trump in TX-7. A very “Republican” district. Wealthy libs much more energized than apathetic Republicans. Elsewhere in Houston, Taco-Truck voter registrations are way up.
It’s not “very” Republican. And more changes with redistricting over the years have made it increasingly blue.
But Trump didnt carry the district because that area is full of elitist establishment types. It’s George Bush’s home district if that gives you any indication. They were sticking it to Trump. That’s my opinion on that scenario.
But even so it will still probably go blue this time because since 2016 there have been more changes to demographics.
This is the reality in TX...
APATHY by the conservative voter... they have won so often for so long they just expect it, and its going to bit them in the arse...
less than 40% turnout in the last presidential election... The TX GOP better get its GOTV efforts to fight that apathy, or TX will wake up to a surprise statewide loss in the near future.
I don’t think it will be this one.. but who knows.. its definitely coming without something changing
