Kim Komando: says her show has never been political; goes on anti-Trump rant
Tech News, Tips, Security Alerts & Digital Trends | Komando.com ^ | September 2, 2018 | Kim Komando

I don't have a komando.com account but I listen to her show every week on AM radio.

If someone does have a komando.com account, please post a transcript of her show [it played in my locale on 9/2/2018] where she starts off saying that her show has never been political and then starts on an anti-Trump rant.

She pretends that she believes that Trump's recent tweets are anti-First Amendment and that Google is not suppressing free-speech. (and if Google is doing so, it's not a problem because Google is a private company and not "the government" thus not a problem)

I can't wait until Kim says the wrong word on-the-air then gets mau-maued out of a job.

Needless to say but that's the last time I listen to Kim Komando's show.

She didn't use to be political. It seems she has turned a corner. Sounds like she is in Google's pocket.

I have never heard this woman, but from your description, she is either not honest, not bright or both.

What is it with all the businesses and individuals committing business suicide lately. Don’t they see putting your head into a guillotine and pulling the cord is a really bad idea?

Blennos, I think it’s also apparent she’s never had her ox gored and doesn’t think it will ever be gored.

Thanks for the post. That is really disappointing. She defended Rush once (but he has some of the same advertisers as she does), so I’m not sure if it was genuine.

You read into it what you want but but it certainly wasn’t an anti Trump rant and she is 100 Percent correct when she states Google is a privately owned company and the government has no business interfering. Don’t like Google, don’t use them, don’t like Facebook, don’t use it. Do they try to manipulate what we see, sure seems so but that is none of the governments business. The choice to use them as a source is yours. That’s all she said.

I have listened to her quite a bit.

She sounded fairly conservative, most of the time, in the advise she gave her call-in people on the talk show.

It was only a week ago that I was stunned to hear her describe the New York Times, and other leftist outlets, as "credible" when a call-in asked her a question about why the call in was getting so few hits from Google. The call in said she thought she was being discriminated against for being conservative.

She has become wealthy from the show, and now spends half her time in her mansion in Hawaii.

Hawaii is ultra-leftist.

I do not know her net worth. It could easily be a hundred million or more.

“””It was only a week ago that I was stunned to hear her describe the New York Times, and other leftist outlets, as “credible”””

What she said was link to what Google considered a credible source, she didn’t say she thought they were credible sources. She was trying to tell the lady how to get around googles political filters, which I for one think are definitely in place.

The transcript does not come off as anti-Trump, particularly.

It comes across as pro-First Amendment.

Komando just has her history wrong. FDR was far more heavy handed in his control of the Media than Trump has done. FDR used the FCC to make sure the radio networks were on his side, with threats they would lose their licenses.

Every now and then I listened to Kim and found her advice fair to good.

It has been a couple of years since I last listened to the program.

... and I think she’s wrong.

I think there are unique circumstances to cases where information companies are SO big that, yes, in the public interest, one side or the other of the political spectrum should not be silenced - particularly in stealth fashion by a bunch of butt-hurt leftists out to destroy the country.

These corporations have a civic duty, since they present themselves as “fair and balanced” to BE “fair and balanced.” Same with the networks. I don’t think the problems in this country are going to get under control until the government stomps down on these people and MAKE them either stop being propaganda outlets for the Democrat party or declare themselves to be so so that people aren’t deluded into thinking the mis- and non-information they’re getting is real.

She’s some strangely popular “tech” show, where I can only assume old people and housewives, go to get tech “tips and advice”.

Essentially people that still have containers of floppy discs that they use unironically or still use Windows XP.

She’s been on since the 90s, and for the life of me I have no idea how.

I read the transcript. Her comments seem libertarian to me, and not particularly anti-Trump. The problem is that when large corporations behave badly, the tendency is for Government to step in, ostensibly to protect the people, but what ends up happening is the erosion of liberty.

FDR was far more heavy handed in his control of the Media than Trump has done.

He also wasn't as nice to the media as is Trump.

During a Dec 18, 1942 news conference, FDR distributed a Nazi Iron Cross medal that was intended for a reporter he didn't like.
