Congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's social media solidarity with taxi drivers appeared to be undermined by a recent revelation about her own campaign's spending.
In March, a taxi cab driver in New York City unfortunately took his own life after falling on financial hardship. New York Times reporter Noam Scheiber tweeted a statement that blamed the driver's death on the existence of Uber and Lyft. Referencing the city government's allowance of the ride-sharing companies, the statement argued that "anti-regulation zealotry came at the expense of professional drivers." Ocasio-Cortez quoted that tweet and criticized the "unregulated expansion of Uber."
Despite the Twitter comment, campaign spending reports from the Federal Election Commission indicate that her words only go so far. Fox News found that the Ocasio-Cortez campaign not only spent thousands on Uber rides, but also on a local ride-sharing service called Juno, between the months of April and June. The campaign spent nearly $4,000 on 160 Uber rides and $2,500 on over 90 Juno rides. Spending reports from July and August are not yet available.

I don’t blame her. Even socialists have an aversion to riding in a filthy, stinking cab driven by a foreigner who has horrible body odor and can only speak very broken English.
Remember, there is no “U” in socialism. Just “I”.
Perfect example of hypocritical socialist. Do as I say, not as I do. What she meant was that SHE can use whatever service best suits her....it’s the rest of you that have to take taxi cabs. Get with the program, people.
Assuming this was a bit of strategic leaking by Uber, I’d like to say,
“Way to go! Finally learning how Marxists play the game, eh? Keep up the good work!!”
She’s a dope. We get it. I wish they’d stop writing about her.
She’s been anointed as the rising star, the rock star, the new generation of Democrats, etc. She’s pushing socialism.
All of this makes the media swoon over her.
I get tired if hearing about her too. But it’s enlightening to hear things like this, such as how she’s a big user of Uber when she supposedly opposes that business.
A liberal hypocrite? GASP! Tell me it isn’t so!
Thanks simpson96.
In her defense, she’s a dip****, not merely a liar.

I very much doubt that she would understand why this is any sort of a problem.
