This is what the start of a civil war looks like.
> players may have the right to protest <
No. Anyone and everyone has a right to protest on their own property, and on public property. But there is no right to protest on someone else’s property. And that’s just what these NFL players are doing.
I wish this was brought up more often. The players are presenting themselves as noble First Amendment activists. But the First Amendment doesn’t even apply here.
college basketball is better than pro, and if you need your football fix then watch college football.
I didn’t watch last year
I won’t watch this year.
No fantasy football either
NFL can kiss my ash.
I wonder how his adoptive parents feel after the past 3 years?
He is the biological product of a foolish white teenager & an older black male who bailed.
His WHITE family gave him a very nice life. He got a good education—and NOT in the GHETTO. He got an ‘education’ at Univ Nevada-Reno. I wonder what kid could have benefited more from that scholarship???
What a total waste of an life & the Oxygen he keeps sucking down.
HIS greatest achievement will be that he brought down the NFL & hundreds of players with him.
College football is a gateway sport.
Better to quit cold turkey.
This is the ONLY way this change will happen. It has to cause financial pain. Owners will not be able to get it done. They have too many stakeholders. The President can’t get it done. He simply dirties his hands with this fight and minimizes the prestige of the White House. When people wash their hands of everything affiliated with the NFL and simply walkaway, you’ll see a change.
The individuals who approve of players taking the knee not only go to fewer games, but some are actively trying to kill the game off anyway because of the problems with concussions, etc. So, literally...the group of fans who are keeping the NFL going strong are the ones who profess to be the most offended. Unfortunately, the NFL is one connected chain. So, each time you attempt to show your support for your team, but not the others, you can’t...your team is playing the others. Until, bottom lines are impacted...expect NO CHANGE.
Right now...take a knee, you’re a hero. Who doesn’t like being a hero? It’s human nature. Especially when it costs so little. I have no doubt some really think they’re taking a stand for what’s right. But, think of the risk they’d take (no kidding) if they stood for the pledge AND went to the White House and said can we work together to help our neighborhoods. The media would shun them. There would be public scorn from the people who are currently supporting the kneeling. They would be cast as villains. Most couldn’t take the heat and negative attention. You may be thinking, but WE think they are behaving as the villains. Yeah, but it’s not your good graces that are important to them. Shrug it off...well, you’re a racist or my kneeling wouldn’t bother you anyway. Plus...now, I’m a hero. And, all I had to do was take a knee.
they are gay men, correct? That should go over well.
Very well written!
Who CARES for the Negro Football League and its gay male cheerleaders?
