Once she's in a lot of cops will let her slide for ticket that insignificant. I've had a couple of state cops let me go when I was out. They saw the Jarhead sticker and they ask if I was in. One of them had a conversation with me on the side of I-59 in Alabama about the Corps. He asked me a leading question to see if I was actually in and I answered it correctly. He did not tell me it was a leading question but I could tell he was feeling me out to see if I was a poser. A lot of posers out there. He was a former Marine and retired Alabama National Guardsman. Big ol' black guy. Incidentally both of the staties were black.

Local cops are not as forgiving to former and current military members. Especially the ones around the bases.

Yes, different points of view depending on where you are.

On the other claw, while I was in combat, or rather in a combat zone, I rarely drank alcohol. Frankly, I was not too confident of my reflexes; I didn’t want to do anything that might slow me down, or put my aim off, when SHTF. I think I had one beer in 7 months of combat assignments, and that was coming back off a 3 day patrol. Best beer I ever tasted!

Now obviously, most of the men I served with did not follow my practice. I got into a fight with one of the men in my platoon when he came back from the EM Club drunk the night before we were to go out on patrol. The platoon sgt reamed me out for injuring him; according to him, *I* was sober, and should have been more responsible and in control, both of myself and of the situation.
