How long before was that? How was it decided that Kennedy would go to Dallas? I know the strategy was to increase his popularity in Texas, but who and how was the decision made?
You raise a good point about Oswald not taking the front on shot. One guess is that he would be clearly seen in the window whereas the shots he took when the car turned allowed him to slink lower and away from the corner of the window. The little Castroist wasnt even a native Texan but he gave Dallas a bad name for many years.
Sorry but leftists lie and Oswald was no patsy. Remember he also shot officer JD Tippet that afternoon too. He was guilty as sin and fired those shots. Did he have influence from a 3rd party? Its possible but the cretin was also taking shots at a Generals home. Most likely he had an evil thought and through favorable circumstances carried out his deed.
I don’t know, do your own homework. Oswald was in that job several months, and the trip to Dallas was planned about a month out.
Bite me. You made this comment. Explain it with specifics.
Yep you are going to have to do your own research.
It was clean shot from where Files was positioned.
Files made the fatal shot.
The first shot came from the front of the limo the Bridge. The second shot was probably Oswald missing Kennedy and hitting the Governor, third shot came from Files (grassy knoll) and guy in sewer missed.
It was POS Rifle and even Gunny Hathcock could not make the shot. He tried over 100 times and could not do it.
You have to keep in mind Elm St goes down hill and does an S curve. Plus you had Trees in the way from Oswald’s position.
In Dallas in 1976, the pastor of the church where I sang took us next day to Dealy plaza and showed us where he thought all the shooters were. It started for me a long time fascination with the assassination, which lasted until I read “Case Closed” by Gerald Posner.
I always thought that the strongest argument against the lone gunman theory, was the skill required to shoot a bolt action rifle in the time allowed by the Zapruder film. This is the argument you are referencing in your comment. You may wish to read that book which thoroughly lays that argument to rest as well as all of the other substantive arguments.
If you think that Posner’s work is invalid, I would appreciate your comments on the article I link here: http://jfkassassination.net/parnell/cc1.htm
I feel sad for agent Hickey who never did anything wrong and was blamed for the “Mortal Error” which he never committed, which was so easily disproved. (Talk about a magic bullet!) He received a cash settlement for the libel, I hope it was enough.
Remember that the tree right under you as you look down at the street under the window was not that big back then. If you wonder about this then read “Case Closed” by Gerald Posner. You will thank me if you are interested in the assassination at all.
Yes.
Option 1 - slow moving car approaching on level ground in a straight line with an unobstructed view of the target.
Option 2 - accelerating car on a downhill curve away, with a largely obstructive view of the target.
Which would the Marine sharpshooter pick?
The Reporter Who Knew Too Much
Good book! I only knew Kilgallen as a What's My Line regular. Author believe she was murdered because she was getting too close to critical information about the JFK assassination.
ML/NJ
They finally found the “Jackie” Link?
And this just ..... JFK is still dead. More news as it develops.
Vincent Bugliosi also wrote a comprehensively-researched book on the Kennedy assassination and came to the same conclusion as Posner and the Warren Commission. Oswald acted alone. Ruby acted alone. But there were a lot of smaller screw-ups, acts of negligence an incompetence on that terrible day. There was finger-pointing, butt-covering etc.
But there was no over-arching assassination conspiracy, didn’t happen. There’s billions of dollars and lots of emotion heavily invested in the JFK Asassination Industry. Conspiracy buffs and hobbyists will never let this go, this is a passionate hobby for them.
Sir, as long as it’s civil and respectful, I’ll carry on this debate with you fact by fact for as many years as you want to. I’m speaking one sentence at a time via one post at a time.
First sentence: According to the FBI, the 19.00 dollar,Mannlicher, 6.5 x 52mm rifle conveniently found in the School Depository Building had to be worked on by the FBI’s gunsmiths before they could even test fire it. No one, not to mention Oswald, could have hit the side of a barn with it.

Bovine droppings. It was an excellent weapon (Especially for the money) and Oswald was a good shot even by Marine standards.
And Oswald used the rifle when he attempted to assassinate Gen Edwin Walker as well.
“It was(n’t) Oswald. Anyone who thinks otherwise hasnt really looked into it.”
I don’t think he fired a shot that day. Not JFK. Not Tippit. Physics alone show that he at the very least was not the sole shooter. The Z film distinctly shows JFK’s head snap violently back and to the left. The left part of trunk of the limo was covered in blood/brain. The DPD motorcycle cop on the left rear was covered with the gore. One piece of his skull was found on the south side of Elm in the grass that day. Another larger piece, The Harper Fragment, was found on the grass in the same area a day or two later.
NONE of that could have happened with a shot from the rear. A shot from the rear into JFK’s skull would have blown all that bio-debris into the interior of the limo, particularly onto the Connallys. That didn’t happen. A “jet effect”, a back brace, a muscular spasm can’t account for the violent movement after the fatal gunshot.
The Z film vividly shows the physics of the headshot and physics do not lie.
A 24 year old suspect in the crime of the millenia calmly claimed to be a “patsy”. He was in DPD custody for almost 48 hours and was interviewed by the Dallas PD, the sheriff’s department, the FBI and others and NOTHING was tape recorded? The technology was readily available. VERY few notes were taken. Does any of that make sense? (I think tapes and notes exist somewhere.)
I remember when CBS and out favorite guy Rather did the special. They showed the view from the sniper’s nest and said look how easy. The trees had been trimmed by the city of Dallas by that time and no thought to stop them. The whole plaza was a crime scene.
I have looked down from the next window through the trees. if the trees were fuller at the time than when CBS did their thing, dismissing theories which seems valid at the time, I wouldn’t have chosen to shoot through the trees. better to be on the knoll and have yourself and barrel covered by bushes on each side.
Shows what one motivated Marine and his rifle can do.
