It is a disgrace and a disservice to those who really need a service dog. It’s like parking in the handicapped zone when able-bodied, only worse.

How are things, upchuck?

Yes, it is another recipe for trageday. Unfortunately, the Best Friends Animal people and others are pushing for just this scenario. And a growing number of persons are passing their pit bulls off as “service dogs” and “emotional support animals”.

A good example is the man who was mauled on Delta Airlines six months ago by a 50# pit bull flying on it’s owners lap in the seat next to him.

Under fire for having killed the pit bull who bit her
CHICAGO, Illinois––Chicago Animal Control director Susan Russell, among the most prominent pit bull advocates in the animal care and control field, was herself “rushed to a hospital over the Christmas holidays after a pit bull she was walking took a chunk out of her arm and leg,” Chicago News reporter Fran Spielman disclosed on the evening of January 2, 2018.

I wish there was a way to just block your anti-dog threads. I’m so sick of seeing them.

Parking in a handicapped spot is a fine analogy.

Things go well here. Punkin and I are doing ok.

“untrained, pit bull-type dogs posing as both service and support animals are a potential safety risk.”

I wonder what % of ‘service and support dogs’ are actually trained? I mean I guess I assumed they all were. Supposedly only 5% of dog owners bother to train their animal. A trained dog is a happy dog and a pleasure to be around. An untrained dog is not a truly happy dog and makes everyone around them miserable.

The posts are not anti-dog.

They are articles and statistics on the dangers of particular types of dogs bred for pit fighting being kept as pets, i.e., Pit Bull types, Staffordshire Terriers, American Bulldogs, Pit Bulls, AmStaffs, and also various mastiff mixes with pit bull types.

These dogs are specifically bred for fighting and killing, including brain abnormalities that cause them to attack without warning, and are too dangerous to be kept as pets.

Would that the death count by these dogs would reduce to the point that it becomes unnecessary to continue to post these articles . . . I become weary at the daily multitude of stories of people and animals attacked, mauled, torn apart, killed by these particular pit bull type fighting dogs.

How the Americans with Disabilities Act has become the “Pit Bull Pushers Act”

June 20, 2017 by Merritt Clifton

ATLANTA––A June 4, 2017 attack by a purported “chocolate lab/pointer mix” who appears to have actually been a pit bull or pit mix has renewed attention to widespread abuse of the federal Americans with Disabilities Act and Air Carrier Access Act to force dogs, especially pit bulls, into places and situations in which dogs would normally not be allowed, as a matter of protecting the well-being of both dogs and humans.

Four “service dog” fatalities

Since the 2011 Department of Justice amendments to the Americans with Disabilities Act enforcement regulations took effect, through to March 4, 2018, 21 purported service dogs including 13 pit bulls, three Rottweilers, two German shepherds, and three dogs of unidentified breed have disfigured at least 15 people and killed four. There were no previous disfiguring or fatal attacks by service dogs on record.
