The National Hurricane Center said Wednesday evening (July 4) that two areas of tropical weather in the Atlantic Ocean have a "medium" chance of developing into more organized systems over the next two to five days.

An area of low pressure west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands, a few hundred miles south of Bermuda, features disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Conditions favor the formation of a tropical depression before the end of the week as the system moves west-northwestward and then northward between Bermuda and the U.S. East Coast, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Chances for the system to organize are 40 percent over the next 48 hours and 60 percent by Monday.

I read this, and immediately remembered how castigated the Gulf Coast was, for voting for President Trump.

I also remembered how much MORE there was of whining along the upper Eastern Seaboard when a hurricane or two swept up the coast, including an evoked “Why us?” or two.

I have been through hurricanes, while living in Delaware, Connecticut, and on Cape Cod. Even at their worst, it was nothing compared to Hurricane Katrina, when I lived in the Greater New Orleans Metro area.

Unlike some, I took the opportunity to “move to higher ground”.

I do not wish these sort of storms on any folks, but as history has recorded, some have come, and some will come. I just take it as fact, and if it does, do what i can, and “BOHICA” the rest.
