Nearly half of the states registered voters have an unfavorable opinion of the National Football League, according to the latest University of Texas/Texas Tribune Poll.
The recently mighty NFL faces both a political crisis over player protests and a public health crisis over the long-term effects of concussions in contact sports. Players kneeling during the national anthem to protest police brutality and racial inequity have attracted the wrath of President Donald Trump and his supporters. And increasing evidence that repeated concussions can cause long-term brain damage has eroded the sports reputation, particularly among kids, as a healthy activity.

‘Non factor and stupid. It is what it is. Kids will still play it. I played basketball, baseball and pee wee football at the same time. It’s like saying you’ll go deaf from firing a 30 06.
Many have as seen by the decrease on ratings.
The BLM/NFL can’t die fast enough.
Opinions are one thing, COWBOYS on Sunday is a whole different thing.
The NFL can get away with its insulting behavior because it is an absolute monopoly. Even near monopolies like credit card, package delivery, and cable companies, and airlines do not insult their customers, because there is at least a little choice. In the real world of vicious competition, like retail, no one can afford to lose customers. An insulted customer will go to a competitor instantly, and then tell their friends why.
Not that I was a fan of UT but vowed to never watch them after their president whined he’d have to shut down the Longhorn football program if UT had to abide by the Top 10 ruling.
High school football is more entertaining. Six man football even better.
The NFL can suck it. Give me college football (and basketball, for that matter) any day of the week.
Will never happen in Dallas. There, you could be reported to the authorities for suggesting dislike of professional sports, especially pro football.
Has already happened. Even the Cowbutts have seen a ratings drop.
The NFL is a monopoly in the pro football world. But what if the customer base decides that they don’t care about the NFL anymore? What if they decide to do other things on football Sundays in the fall? What if they decide not to spend so much money on expensive tickets and NFL Sunday ticket, etc?
The nfl commissioner, owners, managers, coaches, and players killed it; they strangled their former nfl fan base "goose that laid their billion dollar eggs" with their own hands. And we are NEVER COMING BACK, NO MATTER WHAT THEY DO, PERIOD!
Force the NCAA to allow Sunday games and see how fast the FNFL crumbles to a sad memory.
“When fans of the ‘Boys and Texans stop watching or attending then I will believe it.”
I have been a fan of the Cowboys since inception, in 1960! So believe it, when Jones, the coaches and all the players kneeled I believe it was the third game of the year last year, that did if for me
Watch the World Cup.
No kneeling there. Players singing their National Anthems at the top of their lungs.
