I have generally been an admirer of Musk’s accomplishments in spite of some of his leftwing tendencies. But he really reveals himself to be an idiot with remarks like this. Who is he trying to appease? Is he trying to avoid prison for something by aligning with the left publicly?
Musk, how ‘bout taking your gigafactory, Boring Company, and other projects down to Venezuela and show us all how great socialism is, ok?
Musk lives on BS - he has never produced anything at a profit. Wait until he has to refund $$ Millions because he can’t deliver the cars he took orders and payments for.
He's saying to college kids, "Don't hate me because I'm rich."
The "I'm rich" part may be as important to him as the "Don't hate me" part.
Musk thinks he’s saving the plant, just like John Kerry & Deval Patrick below:
27 April: EQ International: TPG adds John Kerry to $2B Rise Fund
First, TPG Growth tapped Bono to help launch The Rise Fund. Now, the firm has brought on former US Secretary of State John Kerry as a senior advisor for the $2 billion vehicle.
Kerry, the former Massachusetts senator and 2004 presidential nominee, becomes the latest politician to join the PE ranks. He will reportedly be responsible for helping find and advise the firms portfolio companies, with a specific focus on the renewable energy sector
The sector looks poised to grow, with Goldman Sachs, UBS and US Bank having already added impact investing divisions. Bain Capital, meanwhile, closed its Double Impact fund on a reported $390 million last year, with a focus on health & wellness, sustainability and community building. In a bit of a coincidence, the vehicle is led by (Democrat) Deval Patrick, the former Massachusetts governor whos been rumored as a possible 2020 presidential candidate.

17 Jun: ImpactAlpha: TPGs Rise Fund bets on accelerated growth in solar electricity in India
Indias aggressive shift to solar energy has attracted yet another private-equity player: The Rise Fund has taken a $70 million stake in Hyderabad rooftop-commercial solar developer, Fourth Partner Energy
The $2 billion Rise Fund (LINK), which includes a whos who of billionaires and institutional investors, calculates an impact multiple of money for each investment, according to CEO Bill McGlashan
(BS ALERT) The more solar systems they deploy, the more they save their customers money and the greater the positive environmental impact, said The Rise Funds Rick Needham

Tesla holds about $700 million in customer deposits for future production.
Two years ago Tesla began accepting $1,000 deposits for its new, lower-priced Model 3 electric car, with the expectation that customers would likely receive their vehicles in 2018. Hundreds of thousands of people have reserved one...
...As of the end of April, some 23 percent of all Model 3 deposits in the U.S. had been refunded...
Maybe youre a clever socialist, taking from taxpayers while pretending to do such super good. Because you are A Member of the Socialist Anointed. Dont cha know. Socialism cant work for everybody, Elon, unless there is a cadre of Better, Anointed People ruling the peons and telling them what IS good for them. Socialism doesnt work with freedom, see?
(If you really make it easy to get through the Santa Monica mountains and avoid the 405, ignore everything I said above. You can be a full on trotskyite and Im ok)
A: The pricks are on the outside of a porcupine!
of course when your on the incoming govt money bandwagon, of course you believe in socialism...
So when's Musk going to open up his checkbook and start evening up the wages of the workers with his?
Or is he a George Orwell / Animal Farm socialist, where all animals are equal, but some are more equal than others - Don't answer, we knew the answer before the question was asked.

No invite necessary, just show up and make yourself at home.
And "the greatest good for all" requires the subjugation of individual rights to the good of the collective. Freedom, individuality, and liberty have no place in a socialist utopia.
Mark
This must be true. Apparently, he, like every good socialist, thinks profit is a dirty word.
“Not shifting resources from most productive to least productive? Greatest good for all? Musks true socialism sounds sort of like capitalism.
I think that may be his point. He’s doing his best for society by building great companies. Could be wrong, though. FYI, I have no interest in buying a Tesla.
I thought “fascist” was the proper moniker for folks who think government ought to own the means of production......
Every Valley Girl in the world will be his if he solves the 405
Musk may have been trolling. Hard to say. I think he claimed that's what this tweet was.
Well, be a “good” socialist.
Surrrrre.
Shut up Elon. you’re not a socialist.
It’s impossible for a socialist to start a business. Socialist are those who take oversomebody else’s business and disperse it to the undeserving.
What a freaking idiot
Musk may have been trolling. Hard to say.
...
I think he was. See my post #24.
You are one of the exceptional FReepers for considering it.
I've been trained to look for it by that Master Troller of the Universe, Donald Trump.
I upvote your post #24.
