Ditto, and there will be a sequel: https://www.radiotimes.com/news/on-demand/2019-07-06/lucifer-season-5-netflix-renewed-saved-tom-ellis/
Reboot for a season or two?
Whoopee.
Looks like Netflix and WB have canceled Lucifer after season 5. But neither party will say why.
I loved the show, but I canceled Netflix a while back and not even for Lucifer will I sign back up for Netflix.
Wonder if that’s why the show’s been canned. Not enough of a subscriber goose.
If so, folks who did sign/back up for Lucifer might feel burned. I wouldn’t blame them. And I wouldn’t blame even more viewers for keeping that in mind when deciding whether to invest time and money into watching a show.
It was a good concept, which explored a man’s (Lucifer) journey of redemption and reconciliation with God.
But there’s only so much you can milk out of it, before it’s time to wrap it up.
We don’t know, however, whether that’s the case here. And we won’t know since Netflix won’t discuss numbers or why it’s being cancelled.
And here’s the prob for Netflix: When Lucifer was on FOX, it was on broadcast TV. IOW, as close to free as you can get. Folks have to pay for Netflix, through the nose to my mind. I argue that decisions like this don’t generate a lotta warm and fuzzies with your subscribers or potential subscribers.
