During their set at the Punk Rock Bowling & Music Festival in Las Vegas on Sunday, NOFX made jokes about the horrific Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting on October 1 that left 58 people dead, Billboard reports. I guess you only get shot in Vegas if youre in a country band, said guitarist Eric Melvin. At least they were country fans and not punk rock fans, frontman Fat Mike responded.
Stone Brewing Co.the San Diego Brewery behind NOFXs beer and music festival both called Punk in Drublichas now distanced itself from the band, The Blast reports. We at Stone Brewing are aware of NOFXs insensitive and indefensible statements this past weekend. As a result, we are severing all our ties with NOFX, including festival sponsorship and the production of our collaboration beer, a representative for the company said in a statement.
The brewery announced its intentions to donate profits from NOFXs beer to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Foundationan organization that provides trauma counseling for officers and first responders.
Update 5/31: NOFX have shared a statement on social media. I cant sleep, no one in my band can. What we said in Vegas was shitty and insensitive and we are all embarrassed by our remarks, the post reads. So we decided we will all get together to discuss and write an in depth, sincere, and honest apology because thats what the people we offended and hurt deserve.
Camp Punk in Drublic music festival has also responded, announcing that NOFX and Fat Mikes group Me First and the Gimme Gimmes will no longer be headlining the festival. (They will be replaced by Descendants and the Vandals, respectively.) The festivals statement reads, While NOFX is known for their dark, uncomfortable humor, the festival producers of Camp Punk in Drublic are shocked and disappointed by the bands recent statements about the Route 91 Harvest Festival victims and country music fans. These statements do not reflect the feelings or views of the Camp Punk in Drublic festival, its staff, or its sponsors. They also note that they will be making a donation to a fund benefitting those affected by the 2017 tragedy.
Unlike Rosanne’s reruns and streaming content, dvds, etc. the NOFX beer isn’t being pulled from the stores. Stone just plans to donate some money.
Then again Stone p!sswater made an anti-Trump beer earlier this year...

NOFX & Me First and the Gimme Gimmees probably have streaming concerts, music videos, and albums available through some of the sites that kicked out Rosanne’s reruns (and rebel flags, anything else on the banned items list?)...
Whatever, too many good craft brewers to drink their politics.

Great music but like CSNY NOFX can’t stop the requisite hypocritical grandstanding... Just like all the other limousine liberals it’s “F THE RICH” on stage then private jets to the next gig while the roadies take the bus. After awhile, as with the Politburos, no creative live is left - which is why they recycle Punk in Drublic - only the sad, stale remnants of something that once meant something before they got on their knees in the lavatory to do their lawyers’ bidding, still screeching about “freedom.”
People just don’t think before opening their yaps anymore. It’s like they were raised by misfits.
Used to enjoy Me first and the Gimme Gimmes. Then they said some really out of line stuff about “W” and I stopped listening or buying their stuff. Not that I was a fan of “W” I just wished those ass hats would have left the unnecessary crudeness out. I like mysic stuff that’s political, but there ought be a reason for it, not just “I hate them “
Maybe they should have spent a little more time among the Las Vegas locals and seeing the very many different designs of “Las Vegas Strong” t-shirts being worn before opening their mouths without engaging their brains. I guess they also missed how Las Vegans came together over the incident, showing that it’s true when it’s said we’re the “biggest small town.”

It’s in my local store now “I’m Peach” Obviously a play on the word Impeach. Only one six pack has moved in the three weeks or so it has been there.
