Lucasfilm and Disney are facing a moment of reckoning.
Over Memorial Day weekend, they were jolted when Solo: A Star Wars Story battled hard to hit $100 million domestically and bombed overseas with $65 million. The film badly trailed the launch of fellow stand-alone pic Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which debuted to $155 million domestically in 2016 on its way to topping $1.056 billion globally. At its current rate, Solo may not gross much more than $400 million all in.

I don’t care WHAT they do. After The Force Awakens, I vowed that the Star Whores franchise wouldn’t see another dime of my money. The prequels were bad enough, but The Force Awakens was just too much.
Is Han Solo depicted as a David Hogg-like Dweeb (a new Star Wars ethnicity just like the cuddly Ewoks) who stages die-ins at the local grocery store? Does he get his butt kicked by a girl half his size? If so, expect future films to tank big time, unless guys who go for action movies have evolved considerably in their preferences with respect to what they want to see from the male protagonist.
Clearly there are some things I simply don’t understand.
Why does the time of year affect how well a movie does at the box office? Why does the timing of when other unrelated movies have been released affect it?
I’m thinking that, if you are a Star Wars fan, you will go see the movie, regardless of what else is playing at the same time, and regardless of what time of year it is released.
I can appreciate the timing having an effect on an unknown movie just being released, and that other movies can crowd out an audience for an unknown movie. But since Star Wars is so well known, I’m surprised the fan base would just not go see a favored movie because of reasons stated in this article.

Star Wars ended for me back in 1983.
The Return of the Jedi was ruined with the “Ewoks”. It should have been Rebels, like in the original script vs. Teddy Bears. The reason this was done was because George Lucas had a lot of parents write him telling him how upset they were with him because their child cried after Empire Strikes Back.

Now all the SJWs (Social Justice Warriors) of movies the public loves has ruined great movie franchises like Star Wars and what I am hearing is Marvel and DC comics. To be frank, I have been sick of the Super Hero movies. Simply too many and they all playout the same way. The last good one was the first Iron Man in 2008.
If Disney and Hollywood were wise, then they would get rid of all the SJW crap. Although I know this will never happen.
It’s okay because they will self destruct and something else will fill the void.
I will only support movies that do not attack America. I’m sick of all the SJW crap. It’s just like the NFL. I was a fan for over 40 years. I shut them down after last year after they politicized it too much vs. coming together under our national anthem.
How many parents will keep their little kids away from what should be a fun movie because they had been told that 1 of the main beloved characters is now going to be depicted as a bisexual?
In the past I would not have missed the opening of this movie now I may not go see it. Big change.
Will the people at Lucasfilm learn from this? Or will they double down and attack their white, male fans? I bet Episode 9 will be down significantly from The Last Jedi (which would be unheard of for Star Wars).

The timing shouldn’t affect them at all. The first two trilogies all came out around Memorial Day weekend and were huge hits.

A totally obnoxious, feminazi robot who built itself without the help of "men" and is totally obsessed with SJW "robot rights";
An emasculated, ersatz Han Solo who is weak, outsmarted by everyone, beaten up by a 16 year old girl and totally intimidated by Pando's obnoxious SJW sex droid.
All in all, such a "family friendly film"... NOT!

I don't blame the principal actors, although Erinreich is totally miscast as Han. The blame for this dumpster fire rests solely on the shoulders of SJW feminazi Kathleen Kennedy, Hildago, Kasdan's perverted son, the writers and staff that habitually denigrate the Star Wars fan base and refuse to listen to their valid concerns and criticisms, and the head of Disney.
As the fans have overwhelmingly said: SJW, racist Kathleen Kennedy, along with all of the senior staff, writers, and "expert consultants", like Hildago should be FIRED IMMEDIATELY.
Better yet: "I say we nuke the site from orbit, its the only way to make sure" ...this ersatz star wars fiasco never happens again.
Maybe Disney could focus on the quality of the product they release?
When Rogue One came out I was expecting a Disney crap-fast, a Star Wars fan-fiction film with silly one-dimensional characters and endless allusions to trivia that only Star Wars nerds would care about. Rogue One pleasantly surprised me, it was well written and crafted and its box office take reflected that. People are actually willing to pay to see well made films. What a mystery!
“Solo” was the Disney crap-fest I had been expecting. Vapid corporate art with cardboard characters and an incoherent story-line. The ridiculously overblown score left me wanting to rip my ears off. “The Last Jedi” was pretty much the same thing, only longer. If Disney keeps this up they’ll run the franchise into the ground.

Millions upon millions of STAR WARS fans, all over the world have joined "The Rebellion" and are boycotting anything and everything SOY WARS, until all of these people are permanently removed.
I thought “Rogue One” sucked. It was full of social justice warrior crap.
