Skip to comments.Joking about John McCain's death is our terrible new normal
Posted on 05/11/2018 9:36:36 AM PDT by Trump20162020
On Thursday morning, a White House aide named Kelly Sadler joked about Arizona Sen. John McCain's opposition to CIA nominee Gina Haspel by noting that "he's dying anyway."
It was the latest in a series of increasingly nasty comments about McCain: Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) called it "ridiculous" that McCain wasn't planning to invite President Donald Trump to his funeral while a retired general on Fox News on Thursday referred to a debunked conspiracy theory that McCain had informed on his comrades while a prisoner of war during Vietnam.
There's no disputing the fact that McCain has terminal brain cancer and that he is very unlikely to be around at this time next year. It's also indisputable that McCain is a genuine American hero -- who fought and suffered for his country in the theater of war and had decided the better part of the last four decades of his life to public service as a House member, a senator and a two-time presidential candidate.
That even some part of his final days -- or weeks or months -- is consumed by this sort of garbage is maddening. And depressing. And made even more so by the fact that this is, in fact, the new normal.

But reveling in Barbara Bush’s death was OK.
Death should not be a joke or be political.
I want him dead. I’m not joking.
Songbird’s death is not a joking matter. It is serious, and the sooner this plague is over the better.
To be civil, we should limit ourselves to joking about Republican presidents dying.
Was she joking or restating known fact? And frankly, why is McCain not retiring from his seat if he cannot serve?
It’s not funny when watching someone cover himself with s&^t
But joking about Reagan’s Alzheimer’s was always a hoot, right, CNN?
McCain is being treated the same way he treats others. Big F’n deal.
“I want him dead. Im not joking.”
Couldn’t have said it better.
Ahh.... Chris Cillizza and his fake, selective moral outrage.
Snipers wanted (Bush)
Trump’s severed head
Scalise almost killed
Rand Paul beaten
McCain dying: That’s just wrong. You people on the right went too far
Nobody was talking about axxhole McCain until he or his people started it by saying Trump was not invited to his stupid funeral.
Who the fxck does that? He and his idiot family can live with the consequences.
I don’t like it much either but here we are.
Drop dead McCain.
McCain started it. Dissing Palin, trumpeting his part in the dossier
Not dead yet.....
