With the curtain rising on her “Reputation” tour, Taylor Swift blinked.
She buckled by having Ticketmaster turn off resale ticket listings on its interactive venue charts for the first leg of her North American tour, according to music-industry veterans.
The tour, which begins on Tuesday in Glendale, Ariz., shows plenty of primary tickets still available for the first nine shows.
But the delisting of secondary, or resale, tickets — a move experts called unusual if not unprecedented — makes the inventory of available seats seem much smaller.
On July 20, for example, Swift is scheduled to appear at MetLife Stadium as part of her tour’s third leg.
About half the seats still available for that show are represented by red dots on Ticketmaster’s venue chart, meaning they are up for resale.
The other half, represented by blue dots, signify primary sales. Those are the only dots currently visible to visitors trying to score tickets for a show on the first leg of “Reputation.”
Ticketmaster’s shutting down ticket resales for Swift’s early shows perplexed many in the industry because it handed secondary sales to competing resellers like StubHub.
On blockbuster tours, Ticketmaster admittedly makes more revenue on ticket resales than primary sales.

Good Grief, they were expensive this time.
I paid the same amount in 2015 for pit tickets for her "1989" concert that I am paying for good, but not pit stage tickets for "Reputation".
When your fan base is 11-15 years olds, they grow up and you grow old.....................
The only question is which show is she going to be on, “The Voice”, “American Idol”, etc.
I wouldn’t recognize her if I fell over her, but there’s more to this story. In the article it also states that Ticketmaster has instigated a new program in how they sell tickets.

When Taylor moved away from her wholesome image as a sweet girl she lost much of my interest.
And I really, really liked her and felt inspired by her at one time.

Ticketmaster is a bloodsucking monster whose only purpose is to voraciously feed off the talents of others and rob every sent they can.

IIRC, she drastically increased the price of tickets this time around. A lot of people thought it would keep her from selling out, which it seems to have done. Maybe she’s going for quality over quantity regarding fans - keeping out the riff raff. :-D

swift is (probably) a conservative (or, at very least she is not a liberal plaything like katy perry), so, of course she’s being attacked.
only being able to sell half a million tickets instead of three quarters of a million tickets is a problem lots of people can only dream about.
