The first three episode of Star Wars were excellent...as was Star Trek TOS. The sequels/prequels never have held, and never will hold, the slightest interest for me.

I think I see it the same way you do.

Also, Rey had no real training yet is, apparently, the next Yoda. Can I say “girl power”!!

ugh...

I haven't seen the last one. I decided I was done attempting to enjoy what used to be Star Wars.

But yeah.

Is that the only way things resonate? I never wanted to be Luke Skywalker or Princess Leia or even Han Solo, but I still enjoyed the pictures. If enough things get blown up it hardly matters which good guy does it.

Let us just say you have a rare intellect and that you don't fit the standard industry model of their target audience.

A lot of escapism is the desire to live vicariously through the exploits of people we imagine to be what we wished we were.

I never wanted to be Princess Leia but there was a time when I wanted to butter her buns...

I think we can agree that at this point in history (release of Star Wars) she was at the pinnacle of hotness.

Lucasfilm hired Kathleen Kennedy as CEO, she fired the mail Chief writer and replaced him with a black female. That black female head writer fired every male writer on staff and hired women only. No one should be surprised by the disastrous results.

If that's correct, that explains a lot.

I didn’t like Star Wars II, or ESB as some folks call it. It chronicled a series of defeats and then the ending left the viewer hanging, like one of those serials that they used to show during matinees at the movie theaters. I left the theater very disappointed.

And I’m not the only one. Commentary magazine also panned it in a scorching review.

Robot Chicken is the best thing that ever happened to that franchise.

The first movie just set up the characters and the situation. Yoda and the Ewoks weren't even in that one.\

To me, those silly characters were a detriment. They should have never made any antecedents or sequels to the original Star Wars.

Finn and Rose will have a baby together. That’s another common jump the shark moment. While I am thinking about it, the can have a “very special episode” scene with a very special guest star, have Poe jump over a Tattoine Land Shark, and bring back Jar Jar, this time played by Ted McGinley. If you are going to jump the shark, jump the shark!

“In that vein, the major failing in Star Wars: The Force Awakens of having Holdo stupidly refuse to share critical information even in the face of impending mutiny because of said silence … is stupid.”

I’m not a star wars fan but even I know that the above scene was in The Last Jedi, not the force awakens.

"It's dead Jim; Kathleen Kennedy KILLED IT!"

SOYLO, a PC, SJW, Star Wars schlock story will also suck on ice.

Been a lifelong SW fan, saw the original movie 24 times when released. Our entire family has seen every SW film, and we have bought every SW film (EXCEPT FOR TLJ) numerous times after the format was updated. But after the unmitigated PC, women's lib, SJW, anti-male, anti white disaster that was aptly titled "The Last Jedi", we're out.

Leftist, PC Disney and Kathleen Kennedy can rot; they will never see a dime from us again, period.

yes, it jumped the shark for me with the last movie

Star wars was always space opera - not real science fiction like Asimov or Quantum space by Douglas Philipps

But the last movie just destroyed the story continuity. It was also utterly daft.

No more Star wars movies for me - and I've been a fan since the 80s.

I thought the director, Riaan Johnson wrote the Last Jedi by himself?

That cocktail gown wearing General in The Last Jedi was terrible. I wouldn’t want to take orders from a clown like that.
