I fully agree. Until POTUS, Trump was elected, we have not had an action POTUS since Ronald Reagan. Clinton was a useless womanizer, G.W. Bush was weak from head to toe..and, Obama was weak, incompetent, low life, America hater, and enemy of both Americans & the American Republic, which he tried to destroy. All of them, including the Kennedy’s are full blown worthless “Has-Beens”!!!

Soon after Watergate we had so much gloating. All the Kings Men, book, movie, 60 Minutes segments, made for TV etc. Maximize damage. We just had a Pentagon Papers movie last year. Never ends.

Teddy got a pass on negative coverage in comparison. He was denied the presidency but a young woman had to give her life.

Bruce Dern as Joe Kennedy was worth the price of the ticket.

Saw it last night. I agree with your assessment - to a point. I saw the portrayal of Teddy as somewhat of a rich, clueless buffoon.

I was fairly young at the time this occurred. My Mom’s side of the family were die hard Massachusetts Dems. My Dad’s side were hard core Republicans.

My Dad still insists that the Kopeckne’s were paid off and that an autopsy would have shown it was murder.

Saw it yesterday afternoon and found it interesting. Best scene is when Teddy’s old man slaps him. The theater was full.

Only question was how did Teddy get out of the car?

Surprise, it got 6 million. Best with those over 55. I am not in that age group.

Re: Who wrote this quote?

I wrote the quote. I posted a chart. It’s posted in the “Chat” forum.

Re: You can clearly see what the cost of the production was because it was INCLUDED with the opening day movie estimate.

Thanks for posting the production budget for some movie called “A Quiet Place.”

The budget for “Chappaquiddick” is “N/A.”

Re: $4 million

That’s the cost for distribution rights.

Unless the four top actors and the director ALL gambled on a percentage of the gross, it is really hard to make a well produced film for less than $20 million.

Re: That 1.9 million number, is ONLY FOR FRIDAY.

I agree.

That's why I titled my post “Opening Night.”

Mojo only had the Friday number up when I posted late on Saturday night.

I saw it on Saturday & the theater was very crowded. We had to drive 45 minutes to get there.
There are 6 theaters in this area & only ONE carried this movie. Hopefully more theaters will carry it next week.
The movie was an explanation of how the Kennedy’s & their hired hands protected Ted.
There was a teenage boy in my row & I could see it was a learning experience for him.
