Roseanne is about as conservative as Archie Bunker, a liberal wearing a conservative clownsuit.

Her transsexual schoolboy grandson wearing a dress, her unexplained black granddaughter, her lesbian daughter becoming a paid surrogate mother, all make it a diverse crowd trying to normalize such situations as middle America.

I love how the media is NOW concerned about a show being "too political" now that its Rosanne.

The latest revival of Will and Grace is all about attacking Republicans openly and traditional lifestyles. Politics creeps into all show dialogues, even a show like the X-Files, attacking Trump. Every talk show, like Ellen and Kimmel, spends time each day spreading hate for Trump.

But now they are "concerned".

Roseanne Barr’s explanation of the National Anthem mess. It may allow you to like her again.

I guess I’m in the minority here, but the politics is what made the first episode funny.

The second episode, about the cross-dressing grandkid and the surrogate daughter, not so much.

Without the politics, I won’t be watching.

Sounds similar to my in-laws. They are very conservative people, but they consistently support democrats. I cannot understand it. I won’t talk with them about it and have left the room when anything is brought up, just to maintain the peace. I just make sure my kids know the truth if they happen to be around to hear it. Most of the time I am proud to hear they are giving grandma(mostly) the business when she brings it up.

My wife and I watched it. First, I was reminded just how old I have gotten. Whoa!

After it ended, my wife asked what I thought. I told her I needed some time to decide.

https://pjmedia.com/rogerlsimon/can-roseanne-save-america/

This article better sums up my thoughts on it.

I kept waiting for them to make conservatives look stupid (the Conners). They also had the gay kid (maybe not gay we are not sure but likes to wear feminine clothes?). It was refreshing to see that, while they certainly injected politics right in the plot and in your face, it decidedly represented the conservative/light point of view. It came across as “normal” or more realistic perspective on politics in the average middle class American home.

For most FReepers, like me, it wasn’t as conservative and aggressive as we would have liked. But the first episode leaned right. And the liberal bent was presented as wacky.

In the end, I told my wife that I liked it and we could watch again. In fact, I support it. My hesitation is that the left will go nuts and not see how “wacky” the liberals are portrayed in the show. They will only be angry that the Conners are shown as evil, baby eating, racist, sexist, homophobic bigots that they OBVIOUSLY must be. After all, they voted for Trump.

I encourage FReepers watch it if for no other reason to show support for conservative ideals being represented.

BTW - I did not know that Roseanne Bar was a Trump supporter. I never got over the National Anthem deal. I have to open my mind a bit, I suppose.

I saw a short clip, Roseanne is Pro TRUMP while everyone else is NOT

Dan is with Roseanne. Best of all, Jackie (the crazy sister) is shown as a wackjob that is total left. Most others seem to abstain or give eye rolls here and there. It's a fair representation of the right for the most part. I kept waiting for the Conners to capitulate or get rolled by lefty arguments. It didn't happen.

She did a great job. The rest of the cast did as well.

The political stuff is what played out across the entire country. People can relate.

I laughed out loud a couple of times. And that doesn’t happen watching TV too often these days.

The next few episodes will tell you whether or not its back or just a nice stroll down memory lane.

There was that. LOL. That was a bit accentuated. But it also portrayed the conservative (I don't know if I would go so far as to call them "conservatives" but...) as compassionate and logical about the "diversity" of the feminine kid. The black grandchild was a bit of a riddle for sure.

I thought they handled the weirdo kid theme pretty well. They reacted like a lot of people: They were concerned out of love, and they made sure the kid knew he was loved.

I loved how they kept saying the daughter was gay. She kept denying it. But in real life she is as gay as they come.

The black kid’s mom is deployed—as the son was. I don’t mind the interracial stuff.

I couldn’t find a current post to comment on, after the show. I thought it was hysterical! The cross-dressing kid ain’t a transgender, he just “likes colors that pop.” I was ecstatic about that. Kids dressing weird is so common. Nowadays, they’ve found a new way to get attention.

Yeah, I liked it, too. I think Darlene actress isn’t lesbian. I think she fell in love with a woman, and didn’t think she’d be accepted if she admitted she was bisexual.

In a way, the second episode was very political. It covered issues of surrogacy and transgender-sort of. Plus, it covered bullying!! Wasn’t that the reason the Parkland shooting occurred?

My guess is that Mulder would end up loving Trump, as FBI issues get resolved. He’d have been aware of the partisan actions of the higher ups.

I thought it was interesting that, last night, Kimmel reran the show with Roseanne attacking Kimmel’s libiot-ism. He knows Roseanne’s popular.

Her transsexual schoolboy grandson wearing a dress, her unexplained black granddaughter, her lesbian daughter...

Three strikes--you're out.

Watch again and you will see how wrong you are.
