The gaunt face of 14-year-old prisoner Czesława Kwoka stares back through time in a haunting Auschwitz mugshot restored this year by Brazilian artist Marina Amaral.
Taken just minutes after she was beaten to within an inch of her life, the images give a human face to one of the concentration camp’s 1.1 million victims.

Hatred taken up and continued by modern muslims.
Over they years, I have seen a lot of photos of victims of the holocaust, and that is pretty much my reaction to this picture. Colorizing the photos brings out the evil done to these people in such a vivid painful manner. I hope this work continues.

My great grandmother, a talented wife, cook, and hostess, already a grandmother of two small boys, and my great grandfather, a wealthy fun loving factory owner with a witty sense of humor, were also in a Camp. He died the first winter. She lived until the next August somehow. Their deaths were carefully recorded in the Nazi rolls as Extermination Dates.
Never underestimate the left to any degree or -ism. They will always have it in them to be like this. The American Nazi Party was quite popular at one time and The Soviets were actually much more cruel even before WWII and the darlings of the American left until the USSR collapsed. There is still a Communist Party in America. I think the left dreams of putting every Christian, Jew and Conservative in a Concentration Camp or Gulag.
IOW, it seems to me, ‘Once a Nazi always a Nazi.’

My childhood friend’s father had the “A” prefix tattoo on his forearm. He survived Auschwitz and his lessons will live with me forever.
So horrible. She was a pretty girl. I wonder if she was Jewish, or did they send non-Jewish Poles to the camps as well? What a monstrous way to die :(
They sent gypsies as well as other inferior race/breeds, also Catholics, Lutherans, Jehovah’s Witnesses.
She died 67 days later after Auschwitz scientists injected deadly phenol directly into her heart without using an anesthetic.

This book brings the scope and suffering right up close... it’s painful reading, but impossible to put down. Another masterpiece by Martin Gilbert.
And today, with Israel, we’re watching Biblical prophecy fulfilled!
I guess the Soviets never took pictures or left any behind after Stalin was disposed. The Germans kept intricate records, the Soviets made sure theirs were destroyed, and any clues buried. However today, the frozen ground in Siberia is revealing more than mammoths. We will never learn of all the atrocities committed during the Stalin years, 26M lives vanished, it wasn’t all the result of typhus as they claim. The Germans used the same excuse. The SD SS only followed orders as did the NKVD, same jobs same excuses.
