I feel for the Mother but her 14 year old was out very late on a school night and driving a stolen car. I don't know why he and his buddy ran from the cops, they did not face too much trouble being minors and all. They would have been released to their parents and at most would probably get probation.
Pretty sure he wont be stealing any more cars. Sad a family has to go through something like that.
I've read that cops are more nervous about young criminals. The younger ones are more likely to resist. The older ones know that the criminal justice system is not going to do much to them.

Loosing a child is always tragic, but let's see if I've got this right. The mother knowingly allowed her 14-year old son to leave in a car that she knew was stolen with another kid that she knew was not old enough to drive.
He didn’t mean to lead the cops on a high-speed chase in a stolen car, it was all a big misunderstanding.
And he had already been admitted to Harvard and MIT and Oxford on full-ride scholarships even though he was still in middle school, and he was a proud dad to his 8 kids.
I hope the car is not damaged beyond repair.
Extremely sad. Obviously this mother could not control a young , pubescent male. Few women can by themselves. That’s why it was mind boggling that the Obama put the clamps on any school system that tried to impose discipline on unruly kids. Claimed the discipline was biased and violated their rights. A bit of well directed discipline may have done this kid a lot of good. Cops are there to enforce the law and assure public safety. They are not there to discipline.Nor could they have known how old the driver and passenger of that car were.

Nothing good happens at 2:00am on a school night. Momma is responsible for her 14-year neglect of this precious little thug-to-be, and nobody else.
You steal a car, among other fun activities that are frowned upon, and you open your existence to all sorts of bad things that can happen to you, no matter what you wanted to do with your life or what your mama wanted for you.
