The cat was so muscular that the first tranquilizer dart shot at it popped out as the cat flexed.

I think I’ll stick with the 35 pound bobcats we have around here.

At one point, that cat was thinking about going after the photographer, and then reconsidered. When the cat decided to back off, he should have left it alone and called a draw.

One of my Maine Coon cats grew to 36 lbs. His little brother is 25 lbs.

They get bigger, many well over 200 lbs have been documented. Biggest one I believe is pushing 300 lbs.

I think I’ll stick with the 35 pound bobcats we have around here.

We had one hanging out under an overhang of our home during the last rain earlier this week. This was during the daytime. It was a smaller one, probably only about 20-25 pounds.

About 100 yards due east, we have a friend, who has coffee every morning on her deck with one about 35 #’s watching her about 20 feet away. Her cowardly dog about the same weight stays inside and whines while she enjoys her morning coffee.
She doesn’t feed it. She does leave water in a 3 inch deep pan.

We believe her pussy cat used to hang out in our backyard and deck.

That is a big kitty, and unlike most cougars, it “ain’t” sneaking away.

Pound for pound there is not a more fearsome predator.

There’s a little eatery/bar on the highway to Mt Rainier where they show a picture from the 1950s or 60s of one of these trophy cats.

From nose to tip of tail it’s over 12ft. And it weighed 235lbs.

And it was a female.

Arguably these male lions have grown to 300lbs in the past.

And all the big ones are in the northern rain forests.

Considering bobcats can take down large deer- I don’t blame the dog

I had a black Maine Coon that I was very fond of. Unfortunately they don’t live forever.
About 10 years ago we took our critter to the vet for his annual checkup. Our vet makes a practice of keeping SPCA young adoptable cats in a 5 foot cage in his waiting room. I really wanted to bring that one home, but the wife said no. He was a cream color Maine Coon, 14 month old and 42 pounds, but not overweight at all, just a really big kitty.
Now we have an 18 year old 5-1/2 pound tiny orange long hair.
I really like the Maine Coons though.
