Vanity - Texas Primary Day today.

Posted on 03/05/2018 11:37:29 PM PST by JLAGRAYFOX

Texas Primary Election being held today. Even though immensely popular, Republicans, Governor, Greg Abbot and Senator, Ted Cruz are running for re-election, both are heavily favored to defeat whatever and whoever the Democrat Party chooses to run against them.

There has been much Media" ado about nothing, relative Democrat voter turnout in the early voting period. Republicans feel both Abbott & Cruz will win their primary runs, whether the voter turnout is heavy or light.

However....the rest of this ballot should awaken Republicans, Conservatives, Independents, etc. to turn out in large number to build on "The Down Ballot".

So...if you are with "our" POTUS, Trump, you must turnout and cast your vote today for your favorite, chosen Republican Candidate. Let's deflate the Democrat Party...right now, and not wait for election day in November!!!

"Trumpies...one and all...TURNOUT & VOTE TODAY!!! It is an absolute must!!! Do it!!!

Don’t be totally surprised if current GOP Lt. Governor Dan Patrick loses to his opponent in the primary.

I don't see how going to the polls today will affect the Democrats.

We will beat them on Nov.8th.

I’m in Oregon but curious how voting may turn out for the pro-life cause, after the attack on TRTL by Catholic bishop. Good luck Texas!

Alright Texans, do your best to rid us of as many RINOs as you can without giving up a seat to do it.

Actually since the Stupid Party allows democraps to vote in the R primary, it is important to go vote.

On an encouraging note, one of the planks on the R ballot is to limit primary voting to party members only, ie closing the door on the democrap cross-over vote. I would think it will pass but then the Rs are known as the Stupid Party for a reason.

I predict the hatred for Republicans in Texas gives the Democrats the most votes.
Do the count after the vote and see if it’s possible to turn Texas blue.

I saw a tweet a couple of days ago about the increase in Dem mail-in votes but did not follow the link to check the details.

My immediate thought was most of the increase would probably be in historically Dem districts and not be a real game changer.

As a CA resident, I would urge all TX voters to defeat the Dems at every turn. There is no excuse for skipping any election, large or small.

Unfortunately, his primary opponent isn’t much better than he is. I don’t trust either of them.

Vote count so far is mixed. Dallas county has seen more Dems voting so far. Tarrant County is just the opposite. The usually blue counties will be blue ... the rest of Texas will remain red.

I am with you. People will think I’m nuts...but, here is the real skinny for November. The Republicans will pickup 8-12 Senate seats and will win between 12-20 House seats increasing their massive lead in the House.

Texas, my GA and other Red states are turning purple, not from immigrants from the South moving North; But from us immigrants from the North moving South.

The primary is the best practice game for the final in November. Each party and candidate campaign needs to know where its voters are. Where it should spend resources, where it will (but should not) take the voters for granted and where it will (but should not) write off the voters.

Texas, like my GA, has a massive influx of job seekers (not welfare types) from northern states. We come from Democrat areas that have no jobs.

The Democrat Party is actively identifying the Democrat refugees from the North and is pulling out all stops to keep them in the Democrat column.

The Republicans should be reaching out to these Democrat refugees and asking them to think about why there are jobs in Red states, but not in the Blue cities they fled. But, at least in GA, the Republicans are clueless to what is happening.

Bottom line, a well executed Primary ground game is necessary to win in November.

my experience in SC is that Dems are moving from the north to retire or find jobs, complain like all get out about how screwed up their former states are, and then vote Dem and anti-Trump in SC. Not logical but predictable.

Very hotly contested state senate race between Huffines and Paxton here. Lots of phone calls and mailers. Paxton was late getting her mailers out - Huffines hit the mail at the beginning of early voting; she was way behind the curve with most of her material.

That race and the junior Bush / Patterson race are the only two I see as being somewhat competitive around here.

Some of the open congressional races may also generate interest around the state, but around here the machine candidate has it locked.

Actually since the Stupid Party allows democraps to vote in the R primary, it is important to go vote.

With hotly contested Democrat races this year, crossover isn't a problem. You all can't have it both ways. Freepers whining about a heavy democrat primary turnout (a good thing) and then turning around and whining about crossover voting. Come on. What democrat could pass up a chance to choose between the dyke and Mr. Leather International? Then there is that pro abortion conservative christian to represent the old democrat machine.
