I think Wayne Rogers portrayal of Trapper John was great, he offered a good counter balance to Alda and did a great job.
When they replaced Rogers with Farrell all they did was, as someone said, gave us a just as equally, smug, obnoxious, and self-righteous Hawkeye Lite. That is when the show lost me.
I will only watch the first three seasons of the show with the original cast. Even now watching it Alda’s over the top Liberalism comes through, but I console myself because Rogers and Stevenson still make it fun to watch.
The one good episode with Hawkeye and BJ was when Hawkeye claimed he could never be the victim of a practical joke. And everyone else was getting pranked, with each one, Hawkeye got more and more paranoid.
And it turned out BJ was the one who staged all the pranks to make Hawkeye literally barricade himself to avoid getting pranked.
Did you lose a bet ?
Awesome in M.A.S.H. So sad to read that he died in a state of homo.
He looks a lot older than 40, but it would be about the correct age for a drafted surgeon.
Not like they would take some fresh-faced just out of residency grad who would be in his mid/early 30s tops.
Major Winchester also was in private practice, so he had a few years under his belt.
A good casting decision.
It wasn’t on purpose. My Enter key on my computer has developed a very light touch, and no matter how softly I touch it, it makes the post appear multiple times. And unfortunately I have no way of going back and deleting the extras.
Of course it doesn’t happen this time and make a liar out of me.
