There are a few major makers of the vaccine in the U.S.: Sanofi Pasteur is the largest, supplying a projected 65 million doses or more this year, followed by Australian company CSL, at up to 54 million doses (after acquiring Novartis’s flu vaccine unit in August), and GlaxoSmithKline, at up to 38 million doses.

I believe the vaccine is developed by the CDC and is designed for the specific nature of the flu expected that year. CDC probably licenses production to multiple pharma companies.

I always save the paper the pharmacists gives me when I get my shot. I got the Fluzone Quadrivalent In late Sept 2017. No ill effects nor have I been sick this winter.

There is not a single flu vaccine. Each year the target is adjusted and a new vaccine developed based on the components.

I got Fluviral this year. Minor discomfort at the injection site (good thing, normally quite uncomfortable for several days), no feeling “out of sorts” which normally happens for a couple of days as well, but 6 hours after the shot my knees ACHED! I could hardly walk.

That went away the next day, but that was very disconcerting.

Eli Lilly developed mercury containing Thimerosal going on a hundred years ago. Lots of legal troubles over the dangers for years.

No. The sheets are the generic Hipaa info & medicine info sheets. ie. Pronounciation, what is this drug used for, what to tell dr before taking drug, what are some things I need to know or do while taking this drug.

You may could call the Walmart pharmacy & ask them. Not sure though that they would share that info. Or ask if you could get drug insert paper (the real thin paper that when unfolded is a mile long) that comes with the flu vacine. Sorry I can’t be of further help.
