Tonsilitis (removed). Chronic severe bronchitis, intestinal distress, for 32 years, culminating in a complete collapse and near death. I lay for five weeks, waiting to die. When I did not, my one remaining close friend took me to an alternative health faire. That began my long journey into health.

(I did not go to a hospital. Why? Doctors had had their say and their way with me for decades, and had mostly failed me - except for tending traumatic injuries.)

Nota bene: My problems were not just because cow’s milk - or a casien derivative - were in my diet every day. I was denied mother’s milk because doctors actively discouraged breast feeding. Because I got no mother’s colostrum, I got no immuno-globulin factors; because I got no mother’s milk, I got no beneficial bacteria. Thus, both my immune system and alimentary canal failed to develop properly. I got sick all the time, and I had digestive problems frequently.

Three years after my collapse, I became healthy for the first time, and began working in the industry. I have one ebook out, and plan to write more.

Cow’s milk is problematic: A1 casein, homogenization, pasteurization. All combine to make it anti-healthful. Goat’s milk is far superior. Mt. Capra makes goat milk nutritional supplements.

For the record, I have not been to a medical doctor since 1995. I think I am doing something right.

You mean about Goat re: A1? Not sure. Read so many books and articles over past 30 years. It may have been a scientific abstract. I did a lot of science database research for my ebook, since it dealt tangentially with milk. I recall seeing an assay of the substances found in typical goat’s milk. By far most of the casein, well over 90%, was A2, but it seems to me that 2-3% was A1.

Yes, Eastern cows are much higher in A2; many Western breeds are higher in A1. Jersey and Guernsey are, as I recall, higher in A2. Anyway,

I suggest you start by perusing articles on Mt. Capra’s website. The company was founded in 1927 (or ‘28), after they made a goat milk formula for their babies that rejected cow’s milk. They began marketing it for women who could not breast feed but who needed to avoid cow’s milk. It is a family business still. If it is about goat milk, then they probably know it. Email them if no article answers you.

I write from memory. If I am wrong, let me know.

Thanks for all the info. The A2 milk company developed the test for cows using the hair from the tail head to determine whether they were A1A2 or A2A2. They also test the milk. A1 cows are culled. Nearly all the cows in New Zealand, home base to the company are all A2A2. They have a contract now with China supplying them with their A2 Platinum baby formula. There are 3 processing plants in the US now that are packaging A2 fresh milk from herds that have converted here. No infant formula here yet in the stores, but it can be found on the internet. I think it will take a decade or 2 but eventually all cows here will be A2A2 also. That will be a good thing. I’ve been looking on the internet this evening for evidence of A1 even a trace in goats. I’ll check out the Mt. Capras website thanks. There is also a company making goats milk formula in New Zealand called Bubs. Nice to find someone on FR who is well versed on the subject!

Before my time, but a family member had to have goat’s milk because cow’s milk wasn’t an option.

Thanks for your reply.

I know many people who were not breast fed, have always been very healthy, and they are all now in their fifties and sixties.

I was breastfed and suffered with asthma until I was 21.

There are multiple factors at work. I do not wish my experience on anyone.

My closest friend was not breast-fed (diabetic mother) and has a strong constitution.

One of the first principles I tested was an Elimination Diet. I eliminated all cattle dairy - including sodium caseinate and calcium caseinate ingredients in boxed foods. Two weeks later, my lungs began clearing up for the first time I could remember.

I refer you to the book, You Body’s Many Cries for Water by Fereydoon Batmanghelidj, MD. It deals with hypertension and asthma as by-products of chronic, sub-clinical dehydration. His recipe is Water + Salt. See: watercure.com.

What baby needs, if he can’t get raw human breast milk from a healthy mama, is raw milk from another healthy mammal. My baby got brain-friendly formula based around raw milk from healthy grass fed cows.

She is gorgeous, smart, and big.
