A care home has hired pole dancers to keep its elderly residents entertained.

Pictures from the latest performance show residents watching the dancers acrobatically spin around a metal pole in sports bras and knickers.

It’s been branded ‘inappropriate’ by local councillors, who said they were ‘staggered’ by the choice of entertainment.

But bosses at Fairmile Grange home in Christchurch, Dorset, defended its decision to hire the dancers, the youngest being 10-years-old. Izzy Nicholls, operations and quality director for Encore Care Homes, which runs Fairmile Grange, said: ‘At Fairmile Grange, relatives and residents requested more modern-style activities.

However, Councillor Peter Hall said it is ‘inappropriate’ to see pole dancers in a care home.

‘It’s not really the sort of entertainment I would have thought that the residents wanted or would have encouraged,’ he said.

Councillor Denise Jones added: ‘I’m a bit staggered about it. While I’m always delighted to see the horizons of older people widened, I’m not sure that includes pole dancing.’

I think it’s a great idea, if the elders in that room want this kind of entertainment. Of course, the women may start wanting equal time. Are the Chippendales still around?

My Mother-in-law died in a Little Sisters of the Poor home

It would have surprised me mightily to see such entertainment at that facility.

One of many reasons I look forward to AI robots keeping me out of a nursing home. No Nurse Ratcheds to contend with.

Call it gymnastics and the vertical bar.

It could be done non-laciviously.

I sure hope so for the ten year old’s sake.

All the Chippendale’s guys are gay.

At the Chippendales by me, they actively disallowed any males from being in the audience. Prior to that, gays would make up the majority of the onlookers.

Blech!

So what?

It’s a private nursing home and nobody is forcing the residents to watch it.

Oh, and I liked every nun I met there.

Disclaimer: I'm an old buzzard.

There was a youngster nun I met where my mother-in-law lived. She was a treat of the first order.

I asked if I could ask a personal question...how old was she and when did she join the convent?

She said 28 and 25.

I said, "It says right here that you broke some hearts when you made your announcement." She quite literally laughed out loud. She was in full habit, but I could see by her face that as a 24 year old she was a looker of the first order.

We talked philosophy. I liked her a great deal, although, like you say, I liked every nun I met there.

“I’ll have the soup.”

That’s the punch line to an old folks home joke. It’s too inappropriate to post, but I’ll answer any Freepmail about it.

"A TEN YEAR OLD POLE DANCER?!?!?!?!"

Yeah. Is that British job training for kids? Not too cool at all. Many erotic dancers have nasty drug addictions that keep them enslaved. Besides that, the thought is grotesque.
