I have had cars that were old and the rats and squirrels would climb under the hood and chew the wires.

My neighbor had her headlights cut because of the rodents’ affinity for electrical wiring.

Seems they like the ‘feel’ of the insulation on their teeth................

...

I think their teeth continually grow, so they have to chew on something to grind them down. Rats have always chewed on car wiring.

“Every night, Joann’s pours a little coyote piss around her tires. “I dot my driveway with some too,” she says. She also places a Coyote urine-soaked sponge inside a tin pan near the car. She’s not sure it’s working yet...”

Mechanic: Good news is, you’ve gotten rid of the rats. Bad news is, now you’ve got coyotes.

I had a house on a weirdly wired street, maybe a dozen houses. Mine was one of three that got power from a main drag through the adjoining backyard neighbor's land. A couple of others got it from cross streets at either end.

Any way, maybe five houses got it from a pole w/transformer that was on the street. It was a favorite target of gray squirrels. The power company had to come by at least one a year to replace the external fuse. Probably more if it got hit during the week when I was a work. Not sure what they did with the fried rodents.

The, understandably, rare 1944 Montana license plate was made of soy products.

Cows and horses loved ‘em!

Predator urine is good for chasing away little things that scare.

He ain’t fooled by wolf pee.

We got away lucky. Both cars one a 2010 the other a 2012 had wore damage for about 200 each because we set traps for the rat quickly. No claim filed but would have paid. For 4500 we definitely would Jane claimed.

I will not work on a car that is sprayed with piss.
The tubes of mothballs can be taken out and set aside.

A squirrel enjoyed lunch on the wires of my one month old Tacoma. Its a company car. They just about choked when the dealer wanted $1500 to fix it. I found a guy who fixed it instead for $150.

Insane to make critical components from food

The cat who hated printers, I’d welcome that feline. I despise printers.

I found, by accident, that mice hate ozone. To clean up mouse smell in a treehouse I put the big ozone machine in it overnight. We found dead mice in the morning. So we put in one of those little fresh air machines that put off ozone and no more mice or bugs there and in the tornado shelter.

In a pickup I have stored I keep one of those cheap little air machines under the hood and not problems so far.

We have tree rats. They’re huge. We’ve been poisoning them ever since we moved in 21 years ago. A few years ago I tried buying Dcon and couldn’t find any. Their little mouse stuff doesn’t work. Luckily we have a hardware store near for farmers.

“Seems they like the ‘feel’ of the insulation on their teeth................”

Not a likes to, its a needs to.
Rats, like squirrels and rabbits have teeth that are constantly growing so they chew on things to keep them at the correct size.
Caged rats, squirrels and rabbits will chew on the cages to keep their teeth from over growing.

Find a farm supply store.

Buy JUST ONE BITE a brick about the color of peanut brittle

Break up the bar & sprinkle it around your garage/parking area.

DO NOT LET DOGS & CATS get into it.

It will kill even huge Norway rats.

Toyota products are suffering with the same problem. it’s too bad that all these protect the environment products to please mother Gaia and the enviro-nazis is causing so much damage to customers pocketbooks. could consumers sue those proponents of these products to recover their increased maintenance costs?

with the govt’s elimination of the production of R22 refrigerant in 2020 for use in heat pumps and AC units, why should consumers be forced to replace existing hardware to accommodate the more environmentally friendly R410A refrigerant or pay the outrageous increased costs for R22 to keep comfortable? this enviro-wacky notion that R22 is causing global warming because it is a greenhouse gas is more political pseudoscience.
