Good Fats, Bad Fats
New York Times ^ | Jan. 29, 2018 | Jane E. Brody

The media love contrarian man-bites-dog stories that purport to debunk long-established beliefs and advice. Among the most popular on the health front are reports that saturated fats do not cause heart disease and that the vegetable oils we’ve been encouraged to use instead may actually promote it.

But the best-established facts on dietary fats say otherwise. How well polyunsaturated vegetable oils hold up health-wise when matched against saturated fats like butter, beef fat, lard and even coconut oil depends on the quality, size and length of the studies and what foods are eaten when fewer saturated fats are consumed.

So before you succumb to wishful thinking that you can eat well-marbled steaks, pork ribs and full-fat dairy products with abandon, you’d be wise to consider the findings of what is probably the most comprehensive, commercially untainted review of the dietary fat literature yet published. They are found in a 26-page advisory prepared for the American Heart Association and published last June by a team of experts led by Dr. Frank M. Sacks, professor of cardiovascular disease prevention at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

The report helps to explain why the decades-long campaign to curb cardiovascular disease by steering the American diet away from animal fats has been less successful than it might have been and how it inadvertently promoted expanding waistlines and an epidemic of Type 2 diabetes.

When people cut back on a particular nutrient, they usually replace it with something else to maintain their needed caloric input. Unfortunately, in too many cases, saturated fats — and fats in general — gave way to refined carbohydrates and sugars, the so-called SnackWell phenomenon that prompted fat-wary eaters to overindulge in high-calorie, low-nutrient foods.

Still, people do miss their unhealthy fats and, in the latest rage, many have

They are tainted worse than a case of Chinese dog food.

“commercially untainted review”

The AHA receives millions from drug companies and the food industry.

As I once read, how bad can saturated fats really be, when your body converts all excess calories to saturated fats for storage? Those love handles and thunder thighs are saturated!

The American Heart Association is an established alarmist whores association populated with charlatans and control freaks. It will peddle any scare story along with its fabricated junk science as long as it is payed enough money.

The lying media and the 0bama administration, especially the EPA loves the AHA, it enough to know what’s it worth.

What ever you do give up “hydrogenated” fats of all types. Cheap vegetable oil and rape seed oils aren't good either.

“Give the slimes a click? No thanks.”

The New York Slime has also some times ago published “opinions” criticizing the American Heart Association for promoting statin. Now, it touts the same AHA as THE authority on anything about fat. How anymore despicable can it be, those presstitudes will say anything.

The Slime is now like the Soviet Pravda, if they say black, we can safely bet that the truth is white and vice-versa.
If it says the AHA is author of “probably the most comprehensive, commercially untainted review of the dietary fat literature yet published” (no kidding!), it means the AHA has just produced the most biased and lobbies influenced junk science on fat literature ever published.

For example, in a study of 252 British men who had suffered heart attacks, following a low-fat, high-carbohydrate diet reduced cholesterol levels by a meager 5 percent and had virtually no effect on future heart attacks. The carbohydrates they ate were mainly refined, low-fiber flours and sugars that promote weight gain and diabetes, two leading risk factors for heart disease.

They're getting close to what many who believe saturated fats do not cause heart disease are saying. From what I've read over several years, the high sugar and high refined carbohydrate diet is a cause of heart disease.

So no new actually research but a survey of past cherry-picked studies that promote this groups viewpoint.

Well, my evidence is anecdotal, but since I switched to a lifestyle of high protein & saturated animal fats I have observed the following changes in my body:

A loss of over 70 lbs, a drop in blood sugar from the mid 300’s to the low 100’s, my psoraisis is almost non-existent and my joint pain that made it impossible to climb stairs has diminished to the point that I can now run up stairs.

I will continue with my current high fat diet.

I did the same. High protein diet with lots of veggies on the side. I eat lean red meat at almost every meal. I lost 50 lbs, my skin cleared up, I have massive energy and my muscle tone looks like I pump iron but I haven’t been to a gym in years. My blood pressure is perfect and always get great numbers on my blood work. My testosterone has also spiked to that of a 25 year old man, and I’m 45. Needless to say, the wife is happy.

If you’re up to it Google “American Foods”...then “Japan Foods”...then, “Monaco Foods” and others and look at Google images. Every country has some percentage of junk food, but what shows up on American foods is about 100% junk food.

Is it safe to say America has among the best doctors and pharmaceuticals in the world?

Check out the below link and see where the USA stands on life expectancy after birth. If you don’t want to look, it’s #43, even with among the best doctors & medicines on the planet.

Just guessing here, but with regards to food chemistry, some molecules are water soluble and some are fat soluble, right?

So, if you remove all fats from your diet, wouldn’t you also be removing all of the fat soluble chemstry, too?

What then happens internally when the body needs that fat soluble material to complete the chemistry it’s doing, but unfortunately those molecules were separated from what had been a complete and whole food and discarded?

The body, now in triage mode, might then have to scavenge that material wherever it can from other areas of the body in order to do what it has to do in the moment, even though scavenging causes problems, too.

What’s up with that? Why do that to ourselves? Seems pretty silly to me.

We also feed ourselves a lot of “preservation chemistry” that is used solely to keep our food “fresh” on the shelf until we eat it, which is just more unpronounceable, inorganic chemistry lab stuff that the body has to figure out and deal with.

It’s no surprise that fresh, whole food, just as God made and intended it to be, is always our best choice.
