Surrounding the Cupertino, California-based building are 45-foot tall curved panels of safety glass. Inside are work spaces, dubbed pods, also made with a lot of glass. Apple staff are often glued to the iPhones they helped popularize. Thats resulted in repeated cases of distracted employees walking into the panes, according to people familiar with the incidents.
Some staff started to stick Post-It notes on the glass doors to mark their presence. However, the notes were removed because they detracted from the buildings design, the people said. They asked not to be identified discussing anything related to Apple. Another person familiar with the situation said there are other markings to identify the glass.

I hit a big bird with my windshield on my commute this morning. Hit pretty hard. Glass is fine but I doubt the bird is. :(
I sense the irony but just can’t seem to put it into words.
Something about arrogance.
(also very funny)
Glass doors and walls have had various types of decorations on them since the sixties because people WILL walk into them.
If keeping them clear is part of the design of the space, it is not a human friendly design.
My dad owned a commercial glazing company. Sometime in the early 1970’s they moved to a new shop. The door between the lobby and the offices was solid glass with no frame.
One day, I walked in and there was a piece of paper taped to it.
Seems one of the employees broke his nose on it.
Ahhh.... Situational awareness deficit.
apple’s response: “the employees are using the building incorrectly. perhaps there is a problem with their shoes. our building is perfect, and doing exactly what our building should do. apple can’t imagine why the employees would want to know where they are going, and it’s just mystifying to us why the employees would not desire to walk into the perfectly designed walls of our perfectly designed building in our perfectly designing company. we just don’t see a problem on our part. as we said, perhaps they should investigate their shoes”.
voice: *these are not the droids you are looking for*
If Apple made guns someone from OSHA would be in there writing them up and issuing massive fines.
I guess they didn't see that coming
Newly adopted greyhounds have to have stickers on windows and doors because glass is outside of their life-experience at the track. But you can take the stickers down after a few weeks. (After a few weeks the glass is covered with their nose prints).
One end of our den is a glass wall with a huge sliding door in the middle. I had to put stickers on it to keep people from walking into the section that doesn’t open. Still doesn’t stop them. About once or twice a year someone will smack into one of the non moving panels ....hard....on their way outside. I always joke and say... the glass really isn’t that clean. lol
Whats wrong with little Apple stickers on the glass?
All walking around checking into their social messages on the iPhag, no doubt.
