Mine was $ 135 bi-weekly. Enough to buy that new Mercedes for the wife...happy wife, happy life!
ping for later
Same. I will be interested in my next check. I am not sure if this one doubled up based on being paid bi-monthly and getting first 2 weeks and last 2 weeks lumped together.
Keeping $300.00 more a month MAGA!!!
Actually got mine last week, biweekly $125. I love all this winning!!!
Mine went up a whopping big $25/mo. Knew it wouldn’t be enough to make up for the increase in the cable bill and I was right. With all the utility increases, we’re further behind yet again.
“......Couple hundred bucks more into the household every paycheck will help.....”
Do the math: (Imagining a weekly paycheck)
52 weeks times $200/week, less taxes = ?
I’ll take whatever I can get.
The overall tax bill is a step in the right direction. Any cut is good.
Congratulations!
MAGA!
The Covfefe is with us!!!
We get paid biweekly, so it’s a bit less but still a good chunk of change annually.
Sorry to hear that.
I’m happy with my tax cut, because I know some of my monthly bills will increase this year like they always do: cable bill, city water/trash bill, medical insurance premiums (slight increase), etc.
Mr. Roo and I are actually seeing our electric bill go down this year. We’re replaced at least half of our light bulbs (compact fluorescent) with LED bulbs. We also replaced a 28 year old heat pump with a brand new system. Our electric bill has dropped by about $80 per month.
Congratulations!!!
MAGA! Winning!!!!
Congratulations!
MAGA!
Congratulations!
Mr. b went ballistic after seeing our elec bill double this month despite keeping the heat turned down so much that I plan washing the dishes around when my hands hurt they’re so cold.
Yes, we’ve replace the light bulbs with those horrid ones that make ground beef look neon pink.
Our problem re: electric bill is that (as Mr. Roo Roo says) “we’re living in hell” (Phoenix AZ).
We have a patio home on a corner lot with a west exposure. Even with two big trees shading most of the west side of the house, our house gets BAKED in the afternoon for five months out of the year.
Our house is 28 years old and it was not built with much energy efficiency in mind. Between replacing all the light bulbs and the heat pump, those two are probably the most low-hanging fruit left for energy conservation. We already put in energy efficient: dishwasher, dryer, water heater, washing machine and refrigerator.
Got mine, but it only covers the increase due to Obamacare high-deductible medical coverage my employer forced me into. So, my paycheck essentially will stay flat.
Just d@mn that Obamacare!!!!
Worst program ever created, thanks for NOTHING, Bath House Barry and your Rat minions!
Same with our 1950s house. Nothing but windows on the west side and, despite large pecan trees, the hot Texas summers do a number on the A/C. Knock on wood and crossing fingers/eyes/toes, hubby is helping the 26 year old heat pump limp along.
Dishwasher? Snort, it broke down forever ago and we can’t afford to replace it. Downsized the fridge 4 years ago and still trying to adjust to not having enough room. Learned to fix things like washer and freezer ourselves because every dime goes to property tax.
Don’t know why people think TX is such a cheap place to live. All the Kalifornican imports have moved in and brought their love of taxes with them. Property tax has gone from 2 weeks of income to nearly 4 MONTHS of income. Literally 50% of the homes on our street were on the market 5 years ago because of the taxes. People just can’t afford to live here anymore. Those who have stayed have had to take on second jobs or delayed retirement or are renting them out. Not liking all the strangers coming and going. We’re still here because of my stubbornness in wanting to stay in the old family home (four generations) and because elderly mother is around the corner but I worry about the taxes 24/7/365.
Gave up on the garden but still stock the freezer with reduced to sale meats at Walmart and limit food costs to $5/day each. Seriously, it’s the @(&%# property taxes. They’ve gone up the legal 10% every single year (plus a wee little bit of the county’s creative additions that add up over time). Down to one working bathroom because to repair one little pipe in the master would mean ripping out the foundation and destroying that bath and the living room so, no way. Not fixing the garage ceiling holes or garage door where the rain flooded the garage but did reconfigure a portion of the roof so the rain wouldn’t come inside the front door. Can’t replace the shed where the tree fell but Mr. b did replace the gable where another tree crashed through but didn’t bother painting it because... the bleepin’ taxes have to be paid. A vacation is a picnic at the roadside park (geez, they’ve closed roadside parks except the one near here).
Please, please, please. Don’t let Amazon pick Austin for their new HQ because that’ll cause home prices to increase and put more strain on the infrastructure. We’re north of Austin and you can’t pay me to go that lib hell hole but many commuters move out here to what used to be the nice quiet boonies... so, prices on everything goes up.
No, I’m not whining. I’m just mad at ex-Gov. Goodhair Perry (who FR thinks is so wonderful). There’s no reason for taxes to be so high. Our take home pay goes down every year due to health care and the property taxes go up $500/yr. Sorry, Trump, I love ya, but that $25/mo is nothing but am thankful it didn’t go down as it would have under Hellary.
I never knew property taxes are high in Texas. I always thought Texas was a relatively affordable because of the lack of a state income tax. Also, I’ve heard that in rural areas the cost of land and homes is affordable, but it sounds like property taxes in your area are out of control.
