I think they miss the point. It’s not a boycott. They are boycotting any show of appreciation and it defines them.
I will be at a relative’s place and they will have the game on but I no longer care. They don’t interest me anymore than an episode of American Greed.
A boycott implies my distaste could end if they pretend to be nice. It won’t and they aren’t.

If you want to watch the SB, but not have it count in the ratings find a live stream on YouTube and just watch that. ---------------------------------------
"Official" NFL live streams (Yahoo/Verizon, Twitter, etc.) are counted in ratings...use one from some person taking a video of their TV screen and streaming it. (Any YouTube streams might get shut down mid-stream due to the NFL copyright police tho....use an "alternate" stream provider).
The real pain for the NFL will come when the major TV networks renew their contracts in the 2020-21 timeframe...hundreds of millions in "discounts" to be had due to lower ratings.

Pittsburghers would rather watch paint dry on the Roberto Clemente Bridge. I skipped round 1 of this match up in 2005. Will skip this one as well.

Finished means not ever again.
They have lost me as a fan. Without the emotional connection to a team or sport, it will die, it is only a matter of time.
The players and the owners severed the curtain so we can see the “crazy corrupt wizard” and made it impossible to see it as transcendent any longer.
It is a business, the players are hired guns who lie to become wealthy, and move on without a tear shed. Why should we care? Answer is, we should not.

In the past our church has hosted a super bowl party as an out reach event. Trivia during commercials and a evangelistic message at halftime.
Not this year.
