A couple weeks ago, we learned that the NFL is increasingly unpopular amongst older viewers. Fast-forward a couple weeks, and we learn that younger viewers don’t particularly care for the league either. The Public Religion Research Institute recently released the findings of a poll which analyzed fan interest in football across different age groups. The results of that poll, will not sit well with the NFL.

These days, I would rather watch a high school football game than an NFL game.
We have 43 million foreign-born in this country. Immigrants and their children drive 80% of our population growth. American football is a niche sport compared to soccer. The changing demographics along with the Left’s demonization of football (concussions, injuries, etc.) will help kill off the sport. Add to that the suppuration of the NFL by the social justice warriors and their anti-American actions and you have a dying sport.

Younger people aren’t gravitating to football, they are more interested in their phones, and their phones are probably more interesting.
Older people are falling away because the game has changed for the worse, and due to the protests.
Our youngest is 38 I see a lot of european football fans in his group (soccer)
The NFL may think they can get away with dissing us formerly NFL fan oldsters but they are wrong.
People live a lot longer these days, and someone in their sixties and seventies will be able to watch TV (and _not_ watch the NFL) a lot longer than Goodell will have his contract.
We oldsters also will have plenty of time to harass the NFL advertisers.
The NFL is just seeing the early storm-clouds..Goodell has no clue what is coming at him.

That mythical late 20’s to mid 40’s group the tv polling groups and ad buyers seek. Many of the millennials don’t watch normal tv and get their product knowledge from the internet and other millennials via their smart phones/IPads.
How much American Football tv games and endless talk shows do the legals and illegals from Mexico and Central America tune into?
The television ad people are facing demographic problems with certain groups like the printed media has for a decade plus. Zero of our younger relatives/friends from 20 something to early 50’s read newspapers nor subscribe to them. Most don’t subscribe to any type of magazine.
Fox gets Thursday Night Football package for next five years. Sources peg deal at more than $660 million average per year. Per game average on TNF: 2014-15 (CBS): $37.5 million 2016-17 (CBS/NBC): $45 million 2018-22 (FOX): $60 million+
Bad for young and old alike!
Young people have been abandoning the NFL in droves even before all the kneeling.
The TV networks also are having to give back advertising time or money to the commercial buyers due to the drop off in viewers promised to the advertisers.. That amounts to significant costs to the nets.
Doubling down on the SJW stuff too wasn’t bright.
