(Disclaimer: I am not a military lawyer, but I did play 'doctor' near a TV at age 9 or so).
Therefore, the only thing I know about NCIS is what I watched on the several TV series. So, here goes with my proposition, knowing that learned FR Folks can and should make mincemeat out of it wherever appropriate.
If President Donald J. Trump was, or is, at risk of assassination by persons within his own Justice Department and the FBI - rumors and innuendos abound - Shouldn't threats to the safety of Commander-in-Chief Donald J. Trump be dealt with via NCIS or other Military criminal investigation units?
I have seen many episodes (fictional, to be sure) in which the NCIS teams go after non-military perpetrators of deeds related to military people, places, and projects.
Surely treats against the highest ranking military person in the world warrant some response from the military's version of the FBI.
OK, people, flame or opine away...
Nah - Secret Service - who are under the Department of the Treasury.
Which may have sympathizers with the deep state embedded. Case in point, that Denver area agent who would refuse to take a bullet for the President. She wasn’t fired, just ‘reassigned’ within the Treasury’s Department.
There ain’t no Gibbs or Ziva or Tony at the real NCIS

The SS is responsible for Trump’s safety. The agency where leadership says they wouldn’t take a bullet for him without career repercussions.
Or girls who look like S&M poodles behind soft-focus lenses.
I pray he and his family have private security.
I thought in 2016 they were in 0vomit’s pocket.
I remember an episode that was actually filmed in the WH. (Guest appearance by M. 0vomit?) There was one actor who was conspicuously not in the episode. Made me wonder what the story was there. Actor was not an 0vomit fan?

I haven’t watched NCIS since the mid Ziva era.

I couldn’t remember for sure so I looked it up and it appears that it was Michael Weatherly (which is what I thought), but also Brian Dietzen (Jimmy Palmer).
Perhaps they are a little more conservative?
Surely there is a real life version of Mike Franks out there somewhere . . . Probie?
I’d wager that there are procedure we are not privy to when it comes to protecting President Trump...
