Terrifying moment a fisherman and his passengers frantically dive into the water just seconds before a speedboat crashes into their vessel
Marlin Lee Larsen's 31-foot motorboat plowed into Bryan Maess' 20-foot fishing boat near the mouth of the Columbia River, Oregon, on August 12
Video captured the moment Maess and his two passengers yelled at Larsen to stop as the boat bore down on them Trio were forced to dive into the icy water to escape being crushed
Larsen has since been charges with reckless endangerment and assault Police ruled out alcohol and drugs but a passenger on Maess' boat claims they saw Larsen on his cell phone Larsen claims he didn't see them because he was sitting down while driving
Maess has filed a $372,500 lawsuit against Larsen, saying he was injured and still wears a knee brace because of the incident

Look at the video at the the source. These guys did not f around. They jumped for their lives.
372.5,not even close to the figure I would have chosen
Wow. Can’t get much closer than that. Glad they weren’t killed.
I saw that on the news this morning. Damn...
The last guy just barely gets out of the way at 18 seconds.
Had the angle been different....pretty scary.
“icy” water on Aug. 12???? I don’t think so.... but one can get hypothermia in prolonged exposure to water (or even air) well below human body temp.
Witness the same kind of crap on Fire Island NY years ago. Families anchored close to shore and some idiots in a speed boat go zipping in and broadside a cabin boat, causing it to sink with people on board. Since it was in the bay, there was about 4’ of water there. No one appeared injured, but the speed boat didn’t think to slow down and was caught off guard by a boat behind the one he was passing. Lots of Yahoos out there.
Darn shame they lost all their weapons that are banned in Oregon and Washington.
Darned shame I tell you.

You bet it’s cold, it is pretty cold 365 days a year, I spent a bunch of time in the Columbia River back in the ‘70’s and I am still looking for my third testicle ... Brrrr
Man, the guy in the green hat had one on, too.
Id double the award.
The real fisherman are looking to see what kind of bait he was using.
You must live in the Tropics or something, try jumping into a high mountain lake in the middle of August and you'll scream when you discover how cold the water is.
Lake Superior in August is where you go to have you sperm frozen.
